View Full Version : Maps for MIle Marker area?
Was out at mile marker 11.5 (Hwy 74 w of Lake Pleasant)with some new friends. They led the way, I tried to follow. I noticed a number of signed trails and loops. Is there a map available showing these trails? Great area, want to get my bearings and learn what's out there. Thanks

I know the BLM sells a map--- "Lake Pleasant/Heiroglyphics Mts" for $4.00. You can get one downtown at 222 N. Central, Ste 101 (across the street from the Bank One building, on the west side). You'll need a BLM permit to ride there. If you don't have one, you can get it at the same location.

Actually you need a state land permit for the times you cross state land. Good info on the map.
Picked up the map at lunch today. They have a nice little storefront operation. Thanks for the info, the map will come in very handy.

UPDATE:
I was at the BLM office 1/13/06 for this map and the office has been moved.
The sign on the door said the new location is 1 N. Central in the phelps-dodge building on the 8th floor.
You can longer get your state land permit and BLM maps at the same place. Two different offices now. BLM has a nice store front not far from there 1 N. Central location. Just opened.

The old office on Central is closed and the BLM staff in the Phelps Dodge Bldg. had no idea what I was talking about when I went there for maps/permit.
The place to go is the AZ State Land Dept. office which is now located on Adams Street, I think. I'm sure somebody will see this and post the correct address.

I rode out there yesterday and I would of loved to of had a map.
Does anyone know a number to call to order the map over the phone? Is this even possible?
For the BLM map try going to their Phoenix Field office on 7th Ave, just South of Deer Valley. You want the Lake Pleasant/Heiroglyphic Mtns map. Ordering over the phone is not possible.
