Here is some useful information that might help you.

The Sep/Oct issue of SideXSide Action magazine has a pretty good review of all the RUV's. Seems to be fair enough.
Check out the Magazine like AZJack suggested. And then buy a Rhino[8D]
The Rhino is more of the “sport quad” of the side by side market with a huge aftermarket following and the Ranger is more the “utility quad”. Also, don’t overlook the Arctic Cat Prowler. It wasn’t around when I bought my Ranger but it is a very nice machine and kind of fits in between the Rhino and the Ranger.
They are all capable of doing what you want safely and comfortably. Compare the specs online and go to the dealerships to sit in them. Try to get a test drive while you're there. The Rhino didn't fit me. It was not comfortable and I felt cramped while the Ranger was very large and open and I prefer the more upright seating with the bench seat. Now that the Prowler is out, it falls between the other two.
Be very careful letting the magazines help you decide. As we have learned through the years with ATV's, they seem to sway their opinions towards the advertising dollar.
There were many reasons I chose the Ranger over the Rhino. Besides the cab space and bench seat, one of the biggest reasons was EFI. The other was hauling/towing capacity. You say you would only haul maybe 200 lbs. in the bed. That is half of the Rhino's capacity, a third of the Prowler but less that 25% of the Ranger. The suspension wouldn't even know it's there:D

If you wait long enough...you can add a Honda or Bomb to your list of options [:p]

http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/Ranger Press on "no bull, no hype, all facts.
Polaris updated the website with info on the '07's recently. They refined the 700 with 50mph top speed and now offer a speedo/guage cluster:D:D:D
It has also been rumored for quite a while that Polaris is working on a more sport oriented side x side. Apperently those rumors were confirmed at the dealer show but no details or release date. We'll see
While I also own a Ranger, I have driven the Rhino and did enjoy the compact design and power, I chose the Ranger because of the load capability, I have a (small truck) tool box in the back. When out I carry a sprayer tank, or what ever I need for chores around the property & ranch. When not home I go like a wild man when I get it out of the toy hauler. I think you would enjoy any side by side if you do not have to carry or tow a load but Ranger here.

Me and my husand have a ranger and a rhino and we were thinking of trading his for a rhino just because his ranger is so wide and the trails we were looking at up north have a width restriction.
