I live in the Cave Creek area and just bought quads. Where is a good place to ride them in this area?
paulnick,
Head west on the Carefree Hwy to 99th Ave (Soaring School/glider rides sign), turn south (left) a few hundred yards on the left behind the Wild Horse West Bar/Grill. It's a nice, easy ridin' place to feel out the new wheels. Plenty of staging room behind the bar. If you're an experienced rider, you won't find that many challenges, but it's a start.

Head to the Barlett area. Cave Creek Rd. to Barlett Damn Road, go right, he east to any of the washes or staging areas you see. GREAT riding for any skill level that you wish. Some of this is State Trust Land and most of it is actually Tonto National Forest. You will need the State Land OHV Permit for the State Trust Land. Besides, the permit is always good to have. Have a great time! Good luck.

You can also stage at north east corner of Pima and Dynamite under the towers. The power line road will lead you down to the area gmoney mentioned at Cave Creek and Barltet Damn Rd. P&D is State Trust Land the first 5 or so mile so a permit is recommended.
You can also head down Bartlet Damn Rd to Camp Creek Wash which is at about mile marker 3.5 or so. That is a good area to get familiar with the new rides.
