I was thinking about years ago when I did the long rides on everything from a XL125 to an XL250. This one ride we did 3400 miles in a round trip. We camped out every night except a few when we started smelling bad. We road from Tucson by the way of Sasabe, Mex,, Caborca, Mex., Los Mochis, Mex., Mazatlan Mex,. and ended up In San Blas Mex. Rode back up to Mazatlan, took the ferry to the BaJa and rode up the BaJa to San Lois, then the highway back to Tucson. It was a blast.

We have several riders here who have duel sport bikes and they take long rides.
A small group of quaders have been discussing a long ride and camp off the bikes trip. Several members have been mapping out several routes to take this winter.

Don't follow David. There must be an easier way.
I know PhxMan did a 10-day dual sport ride throughout Copper Canyon in Mexico last March. A good friend of his does a lot of long-distance dual sport riding. This guy rode from Phoenix down to Panama a year or so ago and this summer he rode from the AZ-Mexico border all the way up to Calgary and Banff, Canada. Send PhxMan a PM and he can probably give you more info.
Good luck...Trish
