NEW! Winter Draw 2007 for Elk, Antelope

Beginning in 2007, applications for all elk and antelope hunts will be accepted beginning in January with the drawing occurring in March. It is anticipated that the deadline for the Game and Fish Department to receive applications will be 7 p.m. (MST) on Tuesday, February 13, 2007. Please check back soon to this web page for additional information.

Confused...early...not enough coffee yet. Is this for the Fall, 2007 hunts? WTF are they doing the drawing in March?

Sorry for your confusion ;), the early draw for elk was something those of us that attended the meetings 2 years ago requested. Getting involved does have effects :D Now if you draw an elk tag you have months to prepare, plan and arrange vacation days.

Did you hear something about that even if you aren't drawn you don't get your fees back?

If you are not drawn you will get your tag fee back but not the application fee.
