Great buck Bob.

I have shot a few Mule Deer back in the '70's but they were of the Desert subspecies variety and none of them were that big.

I have only hunted Coues Deer since 1980.

It's not big but it's a trophy for my 12 year olds first deer this year.

Got this one about 10 years ago. Game & Fish showed up at our camp & checked it out. They & estimated it around the 60 lbs. They said it was close to a record size pig, (but probably a few pounds short)

Not mine, but it is my uncle's deer. I believe it is in the top ten Kansas deer. Don't remember what it scored.

12A North Kaibab Buck. 1977, I was 13 yrs old on my first tag-along hunt with my dad. We had walked out on a knoll and he sat me down on a fallen log. We weren't there more than 10 minutes when he starts shooting... Accross on the other ridge was this buck running broadside to us. We think another hunter had spooked him. This was the biggest deer my father had ever harvested.

What I remember most was back then you had to check in and out of Unit. While in line checking in a couple of younger men began talking with us. Turns out this was their first hunt in the area and were pretty much clueless. My father gave them a copy of a map and told them where we were hunting and about where we would be camped. The evening my dad got this buck they came by camp. One of the guys started saying "see I told you so!" to his buddy when the saw the deer hanging. Apparently they had talked about the info my dad had given them and the one had thought it was hunter BS. I felt so proud of my dad just then... It was great.
