I frequent another site, sportbikes.com, because Ill add one to my collection.. Thatll make 2 :D
anyhow, I took 2 screen captures, Id want to share and was wondering if it could be done here.
First Ideaer.
On main page, It shows how many new post was made in that section.

Second, once U go into a topic, It shows how many replys where made and how (many New Replys) since your last visit. Also, they make it a grey background for those that have new replys, but that doesnt matter.
This is already done here, with the lil icons, but im just tidpicking.

The same Goes for Threads. If there has been a new tread created, itll have the number made in ( )
