Unit 22 Javelina

My hunting partner and I killed two javelina in 22 this weekend. I killed mine on Friday morning about 9:45am. There is nothing like being the only two people out in the desert. I killed her with a Thompson Contender 223 pistol at about 20 yards. We spotted her at about 175 yards from a ridge and I stalked down to her she never saw me.

My partner killed his this morning at about 11:30am. One of our friends spotted a small herd and we were able to sneak up to about 50 yards. He killed this one with a remington 260 pistol at about 25 yards.

Congrats. That TC with a 223 barrel is one awesome pistol. I know cause I've got one too. Do I smell Bar-B-Que? Great hunting!

I am headed to unit 36b on the 23rd, hoping to get one this year with a 7mm-08 pistol. Last year it took one shot from a .270 and two from a .357 to fill my tag. Them pigs are tough.

Took it down to Denmark Sausage company Friday afternoon and the other is being dropped off today. I will post pictures in a few minutes.
