-Last year many of you assisted me in showing my father from Kansas City, Missouri, Mark (AKA Skidmark on RA) the time of his life. He had such a great time that he vowed to make Tour De Arizona an annual event. My father is scheduled to arrive the afternoon of Christmas Day this year. Him and I plan to start our Tour just as we did last year with the 40 mile Whitford Canyon/Queen Valley Loop over Montana Mountain the day after Christmas, Friday the 26th. My father and I are hopeful that Syreda – Hard Headed Woman and Tad will be there to lead the charge just as they did last year.

-We also plan to ride Saturday the 27th, Tuesday the 30th and Thursday the 1st. We are open to input for the Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday rides. Last year the RA Team really came up with some great rides such as Lake Pleasant to Crown King (Mike – Blatant), Four Peaks/Rolls (Leigh Ann, Sean, Maddie, Justin and Frank – FCR), Sycamore Creek/Matazal Mountain (David, Syreda, Grover – tba02, Jim - Junior, Steve – Azotto, Dwayne, Dwayne’s Daughter, Leigh Ann, Sean, Maddie, Justin, Gary - TSGreg and Gary’s Son)and Coke Ovens/Martinez Mine/Box Canyon (David, Steve – Azotto, Bob – NativeAZ, Jim – Junior, Grover – tba02, Grover’s Girlfriend, Chris – Dirty Sanchez and J my wife)

-We have the next three weeks to hammer out which back roads we intend to explore on Second Annual Tour De Arizona. I am excited to see you all again as well as any others that couldn’t attend last year. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated in order to maximize our 4 days of riding.

Thanks in Advance!!

I might be up for your CK run, however another one of my all time favorites is the Mammoth to Klondike ride it's kinda rough, nothing to technical, but the scenery surely makes up for it!

HardHeadedWoman/Azotto/Blatant/NativeAZ/gnjdavis,
Great to hear that you all are up for the Whitford Canyon/Queen Valley Loop on December 26th. In order to ensure that Fooll can make it I suggest we push the start time back to 10AM. Will that work for you Fooll?

Bunk and Teri,
You had talked about joining us last year. You should make up for lost time and join us this year.

Rapp Dude,
I am curious about the location of the ride you mentioned. I am unfamiliar with Mammoth to Klondike...sounds interesting.

Zvonte,
Nick and I were talking about doing the Baja 500 in 2005. Do you plan on coming to Rocky Point this weekend for the race? If so, maybe we can talk about building an RA Quad Team for next year. We don't want the two wheel guys to have all the fun.

Go ahead and plan your original time. The way things are working for the 26th is my partner has it off so there won't be ant work scheduled for me to do..So I might be able to talk the boss into me leaveing early. Are you talking about the Whitford Canyon route that Rapp Dude has listed in the trail guide? That route adds a bit more challenge to, and is a little bit longer than the Queen Valley route that is also in the trail guide.

Fool,
Hopefully things will work out so that you can ride with us. We will lock down the time soon, probably 9AM meeting at the Texaco (Azotto).

Bee Bob,
He currently lives in Smithville. Approximately 15 years ago we lived in Gladstone. My wife and I were born and raised in KCMO as well.

Gnjdavis,
Last year we basically started in Queen Valley, went over Montana Mountain and came back through Whitford Canyon. The ride was easy to moderate. The SNOW last year did make it a little tricky. Hopefully we will get some precipitation this year. HHW had mentioned different routes/attractions that were in the area. We will as her and maybe try to mix it up this year a little.

DesertSandRider,
Sorry...I meant the 2004 Baja 500.

I think I already figured it out. LOL That is a wild crowd out there from what I hear: (ie. bottle rockets, gas cans, & assorted fireworks thrown into the campfire.) is kind of on the wild side for me.:D Anyway all I've been offered to ride again this year is a 250x, I would look like a 'polar bear on a tricycle', so we will just save that look for the mountains. [:o)]

TS Greg: Glad to have you on any of the rides. Queen Valley is for sure on the 26th, other rides are pending at this time.

Zvonte,
Nick and I survived Mexico. We solidified our points overall for the year in the 4 Stroke, under 30 Class. Nick in 2nd and I am 3rd. The race was 120 miles. I imagine that this race is comparable to one leg of the Baja 500.

JWalk,
I may try to take him down for a day trip. It is just so far for a day trip. 6 hours of driving for 6 hours of riding kinda bl*ws.

Bunk and Teri,
Could we take a day trip to the Hot Wells?

TSGreg,
Get those boys whipped into shape and we will see you on the trail.

Dad,
About the time that the 5 gallon gas can went into the fire I was running in the opposite direction to avoid spewing shards of molten plastic. That was scary and it got the attention of 3 Imperial County Sheriffs Deputies that came over to "sit" by the fire.

You and I both know that the 250EX will do the job and if it won't we can take out the Suzuki Samurai, it is almost as big as a "Hunting Quad".

Welcome to RA, PJ,

Yes we do camp outs and weekend trips. We just finished our annual Turkey Week Camp 'n Ride out at Dome Rock. Check out the pictures in the forum's Photo section.

You just won't find a greater bunch of people in one spot. Great riding partners, great camping neighbors and the fun doesn't stop when the riding does.

Just watch the board, if a ride is posted, you're more than welcome to join. Check out this "Tour De Arizona 2", looks like lots of riding coming up between Christmas & New Years.

Hope to meet ya on the trails.

Dad,
Saturday the little 250EX got put through it's paces. We went on a 50 mile loop on the backside(West Side) of the White Tank Mountains. Nick's girlfriend rode it. The ride had a little bit of everthing; slow technical, medium technical and high speed. We may want to do this ride. It was Awesome!!

Are you still doing the Whitford Canyon/Queen Valley ride on the 26th? Where is it? What type of terrain? Riding ability level? How long is the ride? Is everybody on a quad or are there bikes also.

I would love to go. I normally ride a XR200 (beginner level) but can steal my sons 400ex if it is a rougher ride or sand. I've only meet a small group of the RA riders so far and they where a great bunch.

Where are you going for the 1st? and 2nd?
