Hey Sim!!
Im going to order that Ram mount for my Gps tomorrow. But I would be intrested in going to Crown King again maybe Sat the 13th. But not sure yet. I really enjoyed the route we took. First 15 miles was a bit tech. but the rest had a lil bit of everything. Fast Mild to slow. Oh and dont forget about the Mill.

LetsGo,
I think a lil payback is in order. I loved that Trail. Oh and to top it off 5th gear wheelies on the home stretch. Goto Love it!! Im wondering as to what the other route would be like, but will take our route back home 8) Uh... Theres a rock... Ouch thats a Big one.. eee... Thall leave a mark ( and it did, didnt it 9)

Hell yes it hurt, and left a mark.
I'm still limping.(It's all good though)
The only problem with the payback theory, is that I would have to get in front of Phil and that aint easy at all.(unless he wasn't expecting it maybe):D

The route we skipped is a little different, its shorter but somewhat nastier in places.

DaBreeze and a few others did it at night.

i'm in on the klondyke ride and i'm sure 250rdude will want to be also since he didn't have his bike last time we went plus i need to find out how the trail feels on the way back with a clutch cable. this is a great ride. i'm hoping the fire didn't destroy to much of this area. so just say a date and we are there.

we should all plan to camp there the night before. i know some guys did last time and after sitting around the fire and drinking with a bunch of people like we did at the ra turkey ride, it's bound to be a pretty cool weekend at mammoth.

it's not the mill but there is a little store with a grille and fuel at the turn-around-point. that is if the fire didn't eat it.

I was up there about a two months ago and the only place that burned was the bar that had the grille in the basement. Sucked too for I liked that bar. The other place across the street is still open.

Is this a CK or Klondyke ride? And are quads welcome. Whats the pace going to be ... last one up buys; or pictures n story telling along the way?

I might be interested if its CK and quads. there's a group of us that are mulling over some ideas for a ride this weekend ... friday and saturday ... or friday and sunday ...

The weather may not be too agreeable ... rain or cold rain or snow might be in the cards.

Man I'm ready for another Klondyke ride. Time is my worst enemy right now. I'm so dang busy with work, school and racing I don't have time to even breath. I'm out of town this weekend for the SCORE awards banquet, but maybe the 20th???? All depends on if mama needs me for something else.

How about the holidays?? Does anybody have time off during the weeks of christmas or news year? I may be able to pull something together the 29th or 30th. I'll post later.

If I recall correctly, The Mill up in CK is only open Fri, Sat and Sun. So if you are planning your ride to include their great food that should be taken into account.

sim690,

What time are you looking to meet at The Wild Horse?
What time do you expect to hit the trail?

Just FYI, basic directions to the west side staging areas:

From I17 take Hwy74(Carefree Hwy) west to Castle Hot Springs Rd(roughly mile marker 19.5). Turn right until the road ends at a T(about 5.5 miles). Turn left onto the primative road. The word is if your ride is street legal you can stage anywhere before the bridge.

Scram,
Im not sure there. Kind of discribe it, as after the first 15 miles, the road goes into more of a Smooth rather than Teeth Jaring ride.

Grizz,
Yeah, the last time we went, we went left at the tee, and went through MiniHaha..That was that kind of Flats area and there were a couple of old farm houses. Before we passed that active mining operation..

I will hopefully be doing the Klondyke ride this weekend so won't be making it to CK this time..

I've done this ride once, but not this time of year. Fun ride. It should be cool. Take a warm jacket and clean dry socks.

I'd like to do this ride with you but the Klondyke ride has got my attention.

I'd really like to do CK when it's snowing! That's going up soon. So we'll wait for when the timing is right.

You all have fun and enjoy. The Mill will be a welcome site if its cold or raining. (remember the socks).

Sorry guys. Not going to make this one. Got the cable and it wasn't the problem, it's the thumb throttle housing thats cracked binding up and getting it stuck.
