View Full Version : Headed for Alamo Thursday
Gonna stay for 4 days. Hoping the bass will be up on the beds before we leave. Water temp peaked right at 60 last Friday, no bass on beds. Water temp should be peaking around 63-64 by the end of this weekend. Hope I can stick more than a few rats.
Anyone else going?

Sorry Joe I don't bass fish but hopefully we will see some pictures when you get back. ;)
I'm not very good at it yet myself...but I'm putting the time into it and results are starting to show.
Still waiting for that big toad to slurp the sweet beaver and bow my rod like it ain't been bowed before.

waiting for April and going up to the Verde at Sheeps Crossing for some catfish. Good smallmouth in there too. Can't wait!
We did pretty well over the weekend. I boated 17 Friday and 20 Saturday.
Most of them were in the slot with a few overs. Biggest one was 2.4 lbs.

My cousin boated 15 then 10 the following day. His biggest was 1.6 lbs.
Not sure how he managed that many, because he wanted a picture of himself fishing from a partially submerge tree. We dropped him off, took some pictures, then picked him up an hour later.

My son only managed to catch 12 fish total. I'm not sure he's actually mine.
I'm surprised you went back for him:D

Yeah...I would have left him longer but it was nearly 100 degrees out there and the lake water is tainted. Next time I'll throw him a bottle of Arrowhead.

I also heard that the bass and crappie fishing as Roosevelt this past weekend was pretty good. ;)
Redneck....good for you, you're getting some use from that new boat.:D

Yeah...right now I'm trying to decide between Rosey, Alamo or Bartlett tomorrow. So many lakes, so little time.

Bartlit has good bass but i like to go to the damb at bartlit and go cat fishing in may.
Well, I'm headed for Rosey tomorrow, hopefully I'll post some pics of a new personal best Sunday night.

Headed to the Verde near Sheep Crossing this weekend for catfish. Last time I went in march/april my brother and I caught over fifty from 2 to 5 pounds. I have to wonder about it now that the limit has been lifted though.

Last time I fished on the river we were above the Crossing at Red Creek. That one particular night we caught 7 cats (Channel and Flatheads) that weighed a total of 91 pounds. Two of them were 3ft. long. [:p]

Where is Red Creek? We usually go just upstream from the Sheep Crossing bridge. There used to be a good smallmouth population in the river up there as well.
