Well, two good hits out of three. [xx(] I am not a fan of long distance shooting but that's just me.
I have seen the video of the shot on the coyote at over 1000 yards and how they were bragging. :( The shot did not kill the coyote instantly and was pretty inhumane. [B)]
Those are some long ass shots!
Pretty weird looking deer hunting. I like it on varmints, not sure about game. It is why some states (Colorado) have a 13 pound limit on hunting rifles.

Good shot, but with all that gear he had it is not suprising. I make 800 yard shots on the range all the time from a sandbagged rifle when we do long range work at the job, but I restrict myself to 400 yards in the woods on deer and elk. I have tagged the occaisional coyote at 600+. Of course, I also missed a coyote at about 50 when I was deer hunting this year.

Its funny that the guy is all decked out in camo yet sitting in the open trying 800 yrd shots. Not really my kind of hunting. I would prefer to get as close as possible.

Wish I could still bow hunt. I love getting close enough to smell javelina and letting them have an arrow. I thought about a permit so I could use a crossbow, but it's just not the same.

Check this out! This guy puts on a class that teaches long range shooting and sells you the rifle do get the long shot. http://www.thompsonlongrange.com/
Not my kind of hunting either. I started with highpower rifles, went to bow, then pistols, muzzleloaders, etc.
The hunt is not just the kill, but the whole process from determining the hunt area, scouting, acquiring/gathering the gear, the actual hunt, and (sometimes) the kill.
If you just shoot from 890 yards, it is just target practice, not hunting...imo.
I have to agree with you Cletus. It's soo much more than the kill.

thats not hunting, its an exibition of long range shooting skills on live game.
