View Full Version : A few Prowler ??
O.K., I', still not sure what to get, but I'm leaning more towards the Prowler right now.
I have a few questions.
1. Where is the cheapest place to buy one? I was quoted 11K out the door at a place in Avondale(Lime Green or red).
10.2 otd in Thatcher(dark green). And that is it on the quotes.
2. Would the Prowler be a better suited machine to have a 4 seater, Compared to the Rhino?
3. Where is a good place to get the cages and seats? The guy in Avondale would sell me a package with a cage, bench seat, 4 harnesses, cooler rack, P.C., Custom upholstery. All installed for 3K.
Is this a good deal?
4. Ive never driven one of these untill today. Ive driven a Rhino 450 this last weekend. The Prowler throttle seam real sensitive when starting out. Maybe it would take some getting used too or it was becouse it was on the asphalt. Any body have some insight to this?
5. Last question. Are there any forums for the prowler or any online reviews?
Sorry for all the question, this is a very expensive toy for me.
Thanks in advance!!!
I don't have any answers but you're right it is expensive so make sure you get exactly what you want - take the time to research everything you might consider.

Good luck with that one. When I bought mine, nobody in town had one, and if they did they wanted $2000 over MSRP. Got mine from Wisconsin dealer for $9800 shipped to my door.

Yep. The Prowler is bigger and handles the weight better.

That's about right. I think I paid about $2600 for my cage, rear seat, harnesses, leg minders and billet mirror. The guy who made mine has a couple more sitting around. I just like the quality and strength of his more than most.

It is a little sensitive and takes some getting used to. After awhile you don't notice it.

We really like the Prowler and it is great in the dunes. I have around 1k miles and have had only 1 issue on the last dune trip I blew the head gasket. I dune it with the quads and jump it a lot, so I guess that's pretty good for that amount of miles.

Thanks for all the replies guys!
I'm attempting to get one as I type. I'm weighting on the financing.
I'll get the Cat, full roll cage, rear buckets, 4 four point harnesses, and my choice of color on the upholstery.
11,800 OTD.
Now to pick the colors!!![8D]
Congrats on the new toy... Where did you end up buying it from??? How was the service you received?? I myself am trying to decide which one to buy.

I got it from a place called ATVwholesalers. 623-932-0600, Ask for John. They were very nice and did not push you or pressure you at all.Even let me take the wife out for a test ride a couple of days ago without even a drivers licence. And still didn't push me to buy!
Best price I could find within two or three hours drive.
I hopefully will pick it up tommorow!

Go with the Lime Green!
It's too late now, but I want to chime in for the rhino for only one reason. Have you seen the aftermarket parts list for the prowler vs thr rhino? There are just so many options and parts for the rhino it's unbelievable. For an example, if you go to jagged x's website they have a sidebar that displays the number of products specific to rhino, ranger, prowler. 157 for rhino, 17 for prowler.
That said, I'm sure you will love your new ride. It will make you do this :D all day long.
