I just opened up my prowler by getting a K&N, cutting off most of the airbox lid, putting on the power tip on the exhaust, and getting ready to install the Mikuni hi flow carb. I think it will be too lean for around here, but I am going to the Coral Pink Dunes in Utah at +/- 6000 feet. Do you think that will be enough altitude to compensate for the lean condition?? How much altitude do most of you go up or down before re-jetting. The carb comes with a 130, but I have 120-140 jets. I have never re-jetted on the trip before, but it ran pretty fat up in the altitude. Any thoughts would be appreciated.:)

Since no one has commented yet.... her eis my 2 cents.
With the mod's you have done to allow more air in & more air to get out. The stock jetting at the allitude you are going should be in the ball park. It is very tough to pre-jet for an condition until you are there. The following things are major factors for your jetting : outside air temp, humidity, altitude ect...
You also have more than just the main jet to consider, pilot, needle, fuel jet, accel pump.

Give it a try & see how it runs & do a plug check. Take a few things with you incase you need to make adjustments.

Is the "power tip" a aftermarket muffler ? Just wondering, I have been thinking about changing our Prowlers muffer myself. I have a CBR Yoshi that looks like an easy fit to the Prowler.

I ordered just the billet tip from Hunterworks. I'll let you know how it all works. I think the carb will be the biggest improvement.....Oh and thanks for the response.....at least someone cares!!!!:D:D
