View Full Version : CaveCreek to Mormon Lake
I have heard of a trail from C.C. to Mormon Lake can anyone help.
That would be one hell of a long trail if it exists, but I know nothing of it. Talk about terrain change...up the hill then back down the Verde Valley then back up the big hill. Better take some fuel with you. Are you sure it's Cave Creek and not maybe Clear Creek? That would be more believable.

Wow, the only way i could see that possible would be on I-17. I think it would only be about 80 miles though :-)

If this is true, I really want to do that one next summer!! Starting from the Verde Valley would be better after thinking about summer temps. Bunk

I was told by a Bed & Breakfast owner in C.C. that you went north on Schoolhouse Rd. But that was all he knew. Thanks If i find a way i'll let everyone know.

The GWT goes from Cave Creek all the way to Camp Verde. Shouldn't be a problem from there to Morman Lake...

Please get some kinda map on this ride for us all . And yeah sounds like you better have that desert tank . And this is all off road? what a great ride .I did the bloody basin trail from i-17 to fountain hills and just made it back.

You can get the "Arizona Atlas & Gazetteer" by DeLorme at Popular Outdoors. Nice set of State topo maps that show established older trails & roads.
