I just installed the Mikuni carburator I bought from Hunterworks. It is a phenomal mod. The best difference maker I have seen for under $400. I never hit my rev limiter in my Prowler over the first 1 1/2 years of owning it. Now it pulls hard immediatly off the line until I am bouncing off the limiter. It is about 20 lengths quicker in a quarter mile run. They also sell it for the rhino. I think the difference is that it has an accelerator pump instead of being vaccuum fed. It definatly delivers more fuel quicker. I also put on the exhaust tip and like the sound and air flow.

Thats cool, Id like to see it run. Cant you eliminate or atleast by a CDI to extend the RPMs so you're not bouncing off the limiter? What size motor is it?

It's a 650. There are no good CDI boxes out yet for it. Hunterworks has one that is just going into production and will be ready in about 2 months, or so they say. Their CDI will raise the rev limiter by 1000 rpm, advance the timing curve and get rid of the 52 mph governer. I think with the CDI or getting my sheave machined, I should be able to get about 60+ mph out of it.[^]

Nice. Have you messed with gearing at all? Maybe give it a little more low end grunt when out in the desert/sand. 60+mph is really movin' in a UTV! Does she have 5 Points in her yet?

Got the 4 point harnesses all the way around. Not much to be done with the gearing on these things that I know of. With the carb, I should be able to make it up Patton and I-8 hill at the dunes. That's all I care about. It already goes everywhere else I want it to.[:p]

Thanks for the information on those items. I have been looking at them online. Now I am definately more interested in purchasing. FYI - Have you checked out Hot Seat Performance? They have a cam, exhaust and head porting for the prowler. www.hotseatperformance.com

I really don't want to break into the engine that much. Just mainly looking for bolt on reliability. They have had the exaust and stuff on their website for about 6 months with the pre-order $$. Glad I didnt' pre-order back then. The other good place to look and call for Prowler stuff is this one. http://www.kdcycle.com/partsdatabase.html They really seem to know their stuff on Arctic Cats.
