View Full Version : Whiplash racing numbers?
I noticed that you have to come to the Whiplash races with a number on your bike. How does one do this if you don't know what your number will be, and since this will be my first race, how much does it cost? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm really not sure how this whole thing works, how do you get pit areas, how early should one arive at the track, etc,
Alex
For your forst race they assign you a 900 series number and provide you with the numbers when you go through tech. I'm assuming you haven't paid anything yet...
Your license is $30 and the entry fee will be $100 because you are within two weeks of the start of the race, otherwise the entry fee would have been $75
Gato, take the rest its been too long since i scouted a pit or attended a racers meeting

Let ya in on a little secret, your first race they won't make you buy a "Whiplash license" and they will not make you pay the late fees either.
Of course the above is subject to the usual FCC rules and regs regarding the changing of the human mind and they may have changed theirs since last year but that's the deal I got last year at Snowflake. Give em a call but it's their carrot to get you hooked on racing at a cheaper price, just like a drug dealer, man I need a fix, can you bum me a few bucks for a new muffler????

On another note, don't miss the zone's booth at the sand sports super show, it was good last year.

If you sign up for the race before the actual weekend of the race, you can usually get your assigned number from them. Simply call them, and they should already have one assigned. You can get your numbers at the race. I believe they charge $1 per sticker. This will come to $9 since your number will be 9?? and you will need three number plates.

Call Whiplash for a number, put it on before you get there or they will sell you one in tech.
I usually get there saturday to register and tech (they'll explain everything to you, If they don't just ask). Show up a couple hours before race time, find a spot next to the track and park there. It's pretty easy. Mark it with a banner or something, because sometimes pits are hard to spot while your racing. Especially with a race as big as Snowflake.

I just want to be as fast as you think you are.
I wanted to thank everyone who replied, and helped me out with the info above. I can't make snowflake,PFD test soon, but I am planning on Wickenburg, Parker, etc. So, once again thanks, and I hope to see you all at the races.
