I was talking to a guy in my neighborhood on Christmas Eve at a neighborhood christmas eve block party. He was telling me about a ride he and some buddies do every year. His buddy lives in North Mesa, next to the Reservation. Apparently, they have a rout that will take them from his house, to Strawberry and back, all off road. I guess it takes all day, and they leave EARLY in the morning to cross the Reservation. Now I am not saying that one should ride illegally on the Res. I know those consequences....(short story,, LONG time ago...) but has anyone ever heard of such a route? I hope to be able to invite myself on this ride with them one of these days..

Is he talking about the great western trail?

RR, would love to see a GPS route of this trip. Crossing the res. is risky, heard stories of people being shot at and bikes taken.

David says he'd love to see the route taken.

Don't follow David. There must be an easier way.

I get get you from Table Mesa Road to Strawberry through Childs.
Highly recommend stay away from the Res.... that gives the OHV community a bad name. Don't need that.....

Arizona ATV Riders are planning a 3 day trip about April from Table Mesa Road north almost to Flagstaff, on the east side of I-17. Then crossing I-17 near Munds Park and finding our way back down over Mingus Mountain, to Dewey to Crown King and back to the staging area. Requires street legal ATV's. Time will tell how well it works out.
