Went to San Carlos Lake yesterday. Fishing is very good there finally. We caught over 50 fish from 5:30-11:00 am. My kid caught 15 fish, and of course, the biggest. Not too bad considering he hasn't been fishing with me in about 3 years.

Very nice bass, congratulations. :D
And a DBacks fan to boot! Go DBacks!
Thanks for inviting me bro.:(
I drove all the way to Mary because of a couple good reports I heard and I got skunked. Well not skunked, I did catch 6 clams. Not sure I would have rather been sweating my ass off down here though.
Not knowing how big your kid is, I'm guessing about 13 years old so that bass was about 5.5 lbs? Am I close?
Nice toad! How was the traffic on the lake?

Sorry Redneck I took my kid and my neighbor. Mary should have been good. If you were catching clams, you were in the wrong part of the lake. Stay out of the lower rocky end and get up in the shallow grassy end. The pike are in a foot of water in the upper end. The bass was probably just over 4. My kid is 13 5'7 and 120lbs. I am pretty good at making fish look big in pics though!!;) They are super fat up there right now. There were less than 10 boats out on the water. There were 20 fat indians swimming right on the boat ramp, however.[xx(] They don't even move when you back your trailer in.:( I always carry my gun up there! I hope it gets back to the way it used to be up there. Someone did catch a 15 pounder up there last month from what I hear.
I was fishing the Narrows...casting to shore and slow retrieve...both sides. No water deeper than 12'.
Do you ccw at S.C.? I didn't think we were allowed to carry at all on the rez.
BTW...I've been known to put myself on the pike at LM.

No...I don't think you can carry on the res. But I usually stash mine somewhere.;)

That sounds like a blast Dentless. What's strange is I've found Carlos to be better in the day during summer and the opposite at Roosevelt where we catch most at night this time of year. I need to get up there and give Carlos a try. Did you get any on top in the morning?
As far as the gun goes, it's my understanding that on the Carlos res, it's ok to carry, just don't go target shooting, that's a no-no.
On the other hand, don't be caught with a gun on the WhtMnt res.

No topwater in the am. Stick with cranks...Chartreuse or Orange. After that bite dies, goto structure in 15-20 feet and throw carolina rigs, big texas rigs, or jigs. All the fish are schooled up, so if you catch one, you should catch a few. We had numerous double and triple hook-ups.
OK...so when are we going next?
I'll bring my own boat and follow you around the lake.
You can put me on all of your fish so I'll know all the hot spots and then we'll call it even. Cool?
