I ended up buying a Tundra DC 4x4. Drove it back from NM this weekend, drives and rides like a dream (for a truck). Now its time to mod it. :D

First, I want to look into wheel / rim / lift packages. Anybody have some good recomendations for local Phoenix / Mesa / Scottsdale shops that can do a good job with reasonable pricing?

One of the best is 4wheel Supply on Washington & 36th st. Been there since time began. They are the king of lifts & mod's.
Tires/wheels - tought to beat dealing with Discount tire. ;)

What do you do for a living Craig? Cause i'm in the wrong business......;)

That front end is still hideous.....[:p].....J/K.

Congrats on the new truck. According to Toyota, it's the most powerful 1/2 ton in it's class.

They got good deals in NM???

Metallurgic defect in the cams. This paragraph was copy/pasted from the website that put out the recall...

"2007 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Toyota's latest quality issues could lead to a recall of the brand-new Tundra pickup. Some owners of V-8 Tundras have reported camshaft failures in their trucks. Toyota told the Detroit News that it had logged 20 such complaints. The problem could affect as many as 30,000 Tundras built at assembly plants in Indiana and Texas.

Toyota had planned to sell 200,000 Tundras in the truck's first year as a part of an aggressive expansion plan in the United States . The company has opened a new San Antonio plant to assemble the truck; has expanded an Alabama engine plant to supply to factory; and has also started construction on plants in Ontario and Mississippi as it tries to match demand for its vehicles.

The Texas plant had suffered cost overruns before it opened late last year. The News also reports the Tundra had failed to match Ford's F-150 and Dodge's Ram in frontal crash test scores."

There's a theory about stuff like this... and I subscribe to the theory...it goes something like this...

"When you are the best, everyone tries to knock you down a peg. Keep it coming";)

My corporate job is a front...I make a bunch of $$$ in a the old tride and true way - small business ownership.:D

As far as NM goes, I have a house & biz there so I registered the truck there (for business) and pay 3% sales tax, and $60 / yr registration (no personal property = save $800 / YR) and yeah, 0% financing is nice when you run payments through a biz too...[:0]:D

Oh ya, I remember you telling us at the Cinders..........VERY nice, congrats. The front end is my ONLY complaint about it, but everything else seems pretty stout. I'm sure it's REALLY nice to ride in a brand new rig.......:D
I hope you don't have the Cam issue.........That would suck.

Post some pics already............Did you find a lift yet? How fun it is to shop for parts.:)

Open Toyota, look for the Tundra forum. Lots of local guys with every tidbit of info you need.

I've been on that forum for 5+ years... Great place.
