New Riders in Maricopa

We are a family of four who live in Maricopa. Where is a good place to ride for all of us to get used to our bikes that is not too far from home.

I would think on the north side of the road between the Maricopa Road and Gila Bend. I always see people out on the north side of the road about 10 to 20 miles east of Gila Bend on the way to and from the dunes.

The area Griz mentioned is actually 23.0 miles west of Maricopa road on Hwy 283. Great family riding area. Here are a couple of pics:

My son and I rode there last weekend . . . not a "technical" riding area, but there are plenty of smooth long straights to open it up on.

I also live in Maricopa. Myself and at least one friend is going to the Butterfield area tomorrow (1/3/04) if your intersted. Going to leave the Maricopa area around 9AM.

Momrider, on the back side of Rancho El Dorado there is a place you can ride with a feew bumbs and jumps. If you go behind the new 55+ development. It will probably only be there for a few more months. I also live in Maricopa.

Is this area North or South of Bell? Would it be legal to drive

as long as your quad is street legal yes i dont see why u cant i am in the elliot homes north of bell. lets ride man.;

the riding are is 4 miles on the north side there is a paint ball sign on the right just pull in there and go to the right cant miss it

I have been ridin' that spot for years and I've heard that people have started to be chased out because people are cutting the fence and riding on and messing up the McMicken Dam. Has anyone run into this? I've been parking on the south side of the road A mile or so up the road and just ride through the drain tunnel under Bell Rd. If I want to ride the north side. There are some tough technical trails on the south side. I've been venturing further and further east every weekend. You can really open it up on the north side but I haven't even used 5th gear on the south.

What is the house market like in Maricopa? I am looking for a house right now and cant decide where! Are all those new houses out there in HOA's? Do any have places to park motorhomes? What are the prices like?

The house market is really good in Maricopa. Price just depends on what size of house you want. You can get a house from low 100's to around 250's in Maricopa. The reason I built out here is I got a house for the same price as a nice condo in town. Yes all the builders have HOA's. There is a storage facility that is being built that is going to have RV storage. Should open in a few months.

i know alot of people that go out to butcher jones. i go to butcher jones alot, it has lots of good hills, washes, and its right by the lake. lots of trucks, atv's, sandrails, jeeps, dirt bikes, basically everything that is an OHV go there. somtimes it can get a little crowded, but moslty its not conjested.
