I grew up South of Marana on Sandario Rd. I used to ride my bike (1978 YZ80) all over the place. Of course I haven't lived there since 1984...who knows. The riding was mostly Flat desert. We did, however occasionally ride in the Mtns South of Ajo Road, thought I don't remember what they are called. We used to camp at an old Indian stronghold. I remember all of the holes in the rocks left from grinding grain...the area is SouthEast of threepoints/robles junction area...I hope to get back there one of these days and do a little exploring...

I did some riding/camping down there last year. I do remember there was a airport(small) right next to us. The place did have a name but I don't remember it, it was something like ?..?.. national monument. It's on a map just west of I-10. I did post on it, so maybe it's in a old post if you look back far enough. RICH

The airport is probably Ryans Field right off of Ajo Highway (Hwy 87?)

It's called Pinal Air Park. Take I-10 (back towards Phx)to the Pinal Airpark Exit. You have to have a State Trust Land Permit, however, they haven't been enforcing that for at least a year. It's not very pretty out there but there are hills and jumps, etc. Ifyou go, make sure you drive to the back where it's better riding. Sorry Jeff, when you asked me before I thought you wanted more of a trail ride type thing.
Why aren't you out ridin'?!?

Thanks for the information. My wife is very green at this so light easy trails are great for her. Thanks again. Jeff
