That's right. He is starting a riding school. It is still in the planning stages, but so far the response has been excellent. Over 40 reservations in the first week.

He's one of my best friends and team mates so I am very excited for him. I have learned most of what I know about racing from him. It's amazing to get behind him and watch him ride. He is a natural on a bike and truly talented Profesional racer.
I hope him the best.

Maybe I'll take his class and learn some more of his secrets. Maybe he can teach me how to beat him. HHUUMM that'll never happen.

O.K. here's the deal. Classes will start sometime in October (mid to late). $115 for 4-5 hours and lunch is included. He is getting a ton of reservations already so if you're interested give him a call at 480-577-3517.

I can't say enough for this guys riding ability. He is a natural winner.

I've tried to figure that out many times. I get behind him and try to stay in his dust and he just disapears. He is just a natural talented rider. He does have some pretty unique cornering techniques that I have somewhat adapted to, but nothing like him.

When I race against him I'm working my @$$ off and it doesn't seem like he is even trying hard, and then he is gone.

He's 23 years old with probably about 25 years of experience. (don't try to figure that one out, he goes so dang fast he creates some kind of time warp).

Gato- I assume it's a track-only class (being the MX forum), or does he cover desert riding as well...?

The class is basically MX format, but I've always believed that MX is excellent practice and training for desert racing. Of course nothing is better than getting out in the desert and tearing it up, but if you you don't have the fundamentals down you can teach yourself a lot of bad habits which is mainly why a lot of desert racers hate MX tracks. MX is a lot about fundamentals. MX teaches you how to corner, balance, weight the pegs properly, use proper body position through whoops and jumps, when/if to preload on jumps, how to control the bike in the air, proper throttle control, etc... If you can learn to go around a MX track with ease you can ride anywhere. The fundamentals are basically the same. You just have to take what you learn from MX and apply them towards desert. I practice a lot on MX track after hearing this same advise from Destry Abbott, and it has helped me immensely in the desert.

A lot of very fast desert racers like TY Davis and Mike Kieldrowski started there careers in Supercross and Motocross.

If you leave his class feeling like you need more desert training just let him or me know and we'll be glad to take you out and school you some more.
