From what I have learned, some cool trails in your area can be found in the Santa Ritas and dunes will be down at Hot Wells near Safford. You could always hit I-8 and head over to Buttercup as well. Good luck.

Being from here, I would say not really. You can go the same distance and hit some really good riding. Try around Sonoita for some nice trail riding.

Hey any of you want some new trail riding give me a post and come out Safford way. We have miles of 2 track primitive roads with no one using them. One good trip, Safford to Morenci, don't look on the map it is not shown,I spent 25 years finding this old road.

Mou5e,
Sorry about this last weekend. I didn't check the post until Monday. We ended up not riding anyway. I'm a baby for the cold [V]. The family and I are thinking about going this Sunday if the weather holds out. We need to get my daughter some riding time on her new 90 before the dune trip in Feb. so chances are we will be out a lot until then. PM me if you are interested...cool?[8D]

A friend of mine, father, lives in Safford. I'll run the Idea by him, and see if we cant stay there...I would like to do that trip with you..Mabe late Feb, early March??? I have to wait until then, because my schedule is full....I'm racing a friends car in the Parker 425, the first of Febuary.. then after that I have to help tear down the car...
How long does the trip take? How many miles?

Safford is about 120 mi. from Tucson. 25 mi. N. of I10 on 191. If you like to camp, Roper Lake State Park is 3 mi. S. of Safford and has a public hot tub, the BLM has a campground out N. in the Gila Box area where we do a lot of our riding. This area is about 5-10 degrees colder than Tucson and Mesa, so would make a great Mar.-May trip.
