I've been riding with my boys up at the powerlines located at Pima and Dynamite. We have been having a great time up there. I see that most of the trails are marked with numbers. So I'm thinking, someone has to have a map of these trails. Does anyone know where I might find trails maps of this area. Thx

Some Bicycle shops had singletrack maps of the area a few years ago.

Not sure how valid an old map will be. During the Granite Mountain project, some of the old trails were closed and some new trails were created. The new maps are "on hold" because for the third time in the past 12 months, funds that were originally intended for the maps, signs and brochures have been grabbed/stolen by State Parks. So, that means Jeff Gursh is back at work asking, begging, pleading, whatever it takes to come up with $6000 to finish the project. If you'd like a map of this area, please be sure to complain to the ASLD and the AZ State Parks about the "stolen" funds.

The area at P&D is STL so a permit is required. Trail 1(power line road) will lead you north to Bartlet Damn Rd(8 miles). At about mile 5 or so you cross into the Tonto National Forest. Once in the Tonto there are trails that lead you down into Camp Creek Wash and beyond. Trails 1, 23 and 20(If I recall correctly) are trails suitable for Quads. The rest of the trail are mainly single track up to the Tonto. The Tonto has a good mix of single and double in the area.

YES. I have been looking for just such a map and found one today at Landis Cyclery at Scottsdale Rd and Shea Blvd. It is published by Arizona Mapping Kompany. They publish one for the Trails of East Phoenix and The Trails of West Phoenix. Each one costs $14.99. The East Phoenix one covers Pima & Dynamite, McDowell Mountain, Phx Mountain Preserve, Usery Mtn and Hawes/Red Mountain. Mostly for mountain biking and horseback riding, but it has most of the trails.:)
