View Full Version : Utah Elk and Deer
A successful week and a half in central Utah, near Price. Cow elk and an o.k. buck deer. Mixed bag of weather at about 9k ft. elev. Quads worked great and the bighorns were excellent in the mud and snow:D

No kidding, congrats on the harvest. Good eats.:D
O.K. It is a sheep ranch that I've hunted on with friends for a dozen years or so. Actually near Schofield Reservoir, a great fishing lake. My elk was taken on opening day down a canyon when a bunch got pushed in front of me by some other hunters in the ranch next door. My deer was taken two days later in the same canyon. He was walking through some aspens with a few other small horned bucks. Most deer on this ranch have thin antlers and I thought he was good enough for me. I had real good luck early. That made for a really good trip since my wife came on this one with me and we had a whole week left on the trip to help others and party;)
Another great part of the trip is how great the ranch is for quad riding. The owner knows that we are looking at buying a Rhino. He let us drive his new 450 camo one for a day. I know I want the 700, but I loved the ride. More importantly, so did the wife.
By the way, that is my buddy's calf elk under the tarp in the trailer.
