Second day of season, 405 yards with a .243. I thought he was shooting at the one at 300 yards, he told me later he couldn't see it. Pays to spend time on the range! 13 years old, his third deer hunt, first one he ever shot at. Unit 36b, second day of the hunt. And of course he had to shoot it 2 miles from the Rhino!

.243 at 400 yards?! Excellent shot. Congrats to the boy... and the proud papa!!

I had ranged this one so I could shoot it, so I am sure of the range. I was amazed. We practice at 300 yards, so he knew the holdover for that range, said he just added a little and let 'er go. The fourth happiest day of my life, the first three being the days he and his two sisters were born.
Congrats to him!
I have never shot a 243, but the 10 year old I was hunting with this last Saturday took his Kaibab Doe at 210 yards while walking with his dad's old 243 remington with a 3x scope. I was amazed!
