RA Camp-n-Ride *New Location (1/16-1/19)

Fellow RA Members,The riding season is here and so is our 1st 3-day weekend of 2004. With our overwhelming desire to get some 'well-deserved' seat time in, We have decided to head out with our families for another Camp-N-Ride.

NEW LOCATION: We will be heading to MM11-1/2, South of the boulders, near Lake Pleasant. We will be there from Friday night until Monday morning(1/16-1/19).

You are welcome to join us if you'd like. This is State Trust Land, so you will need your permit. If you don't have one, you can obtain one at the PLIC (Public Land Information Center) in downtown Phoenix. They will be open until 5:00pm on Friday evening.

Directions to our camp: I-17 to Carefree Highway, go west for approximately 18 miles to MM11-1/2. Turn right off Carefree Hwy. Proceed approximately 1 3/4 miles to the staging area(South of boulders). We will have a fun party around the fire on Saturday night, so plan accordingly.

If you are coming, the usual 'BYO' rules apply:
Firewood!!! (A MUST)
Ride and PERMIT
Food & drink
Sleeping and Toilet arrangements

Hey all,

Been reading a few of the comments regarding this camp-n-ride. Let me be the first to say that this 'lil camp-n-ride may have been 'last minute' but was definately NO SECRET. We got one of those 'wild hairs' and decided to make the most of the long weekend, hence the announcement on Thursday. My apologies to those of you of that felt differently, wish you could've made it.

Now, onto to the fun stuff:

I did meet a few new folks out there this trip too, and it was a pleasure spending the weekend with you as well. Good riding, good music, good food and good friends-it doesn't get any better.

How bout that Christmas tree? Well, we celebrated by decorating the Burns Family Christmas tree (which had been wrapped and cured since Xmas) with our 'cans' and then did a massive torch up on Saturday night. Kyle??? Pictures...anyone??

Riding? Oh! The riding at 11.5 is second to none! Awesome trails. The best part about it...IT'S SO CLOSE TO HOME!

Looks like a hella good time. Wish I was there but I wasn't. But I took a group of freinds and family out to the ovens. They all think I'm crazy. Two of them are from AZ trail riders group, great people.

Whoo hooo. The family and I had a great time. :) It was great to get in some good riding with some familiar faces. Sorry for the mix-up on posting the location and changing it (thanks for your help Syreda). We thought 11.5 would be a close run for most and it turns out the Arizona ATV Riders had their annual gathering out at 11.5. Turns out there was room for us just South of the boulders.

We had a great time and the weather was perfect. Can't wait till the next one. I will post a few pics tomorrow.
