Mike,
Well it won't be as cold as Ontario here in Northern AZ in March, but it will still be chilly. Usually mid 40's during the day and teens to 20's at night. There is a lot of National Forest south and North of the Grand Canyon that allows primitive camping. Technically you are supposed to have street legal vehicles on any maintained road in the natioanl forests, but enforcement is hit and miss. If you are planning to visit the south rim (the most popular) there is very good, and warmer, riding located about an hour south of Flagstaff in the Camp Verde area at Hayfield Draw OHV (60's during the day) area or an hour and a half southwest in the Prescott Natioanl Forest, Camp Wood, Alto Pit (50's-60's during the day)or tons of trails in the Bradshaw Mountains. Just north of Flagstaff is the Cinder Hills OHV area an area of volcanic cinder cones with huge hillclimbs and great views. None of the designated OHV areas I've mentioned require ATV's or bikes to be street legal. If you run a search on any of these areas here on RA you'll get tons of info. Even warmer further south near Phoenix.[8D]
