Never been to the dunes, and was wanting to take a trip out there but due to my job Saturday would be my only day to go,and I was wondering if anybody does a one day trip out themselves or second would it be worth the drive for just one day?

If one day is all you can get then one day at the dunes is better than no days at the dunes.:) Personally I usually make it at least a three day weekend.

It's a lot of driving for one day, but you won't need to pack much, lunch, gas, riding gear, bike/quad and you're good-to-go. Go near a holiday weekend and you'll be able to buy food/drink on vendor's row.
Get going early, arrive 9-10AM, ride until dark or 8-9PM and get home by midnight.

Dune thanks for the info I know most people go for the weekend and I would like to ride with people who know the dunes so I can learn all the ins and outs so maybe I'll try to meet up with some posted dune trips at least for a Saturday.

Usually up in the four peaks area, tonto desert preservation area towards bartlett lake, or butterfield trail down near maricopa.
But i perfer the dunes. Buttercup is only 2 1/2 hours from my house.
In my opinion, Glamis is better. But for a one day ride, i go to buttercup to save some time. Anytime you want to ride, send me a PM and ill get back to ya. Too bad you cant get away this weekend, but me and some friends are going to the dunes Presidents Day weekend and the weekend of the the 27th (Feb). I know schedule is tight so if you ever want to do a one day to the dunes, let me know.
SEE YA!

I wouldn't go just for the day. We couldn't get enough riding in and the pass is $25.00 for 1-7 days and two tanks of gas. Make it worth your while and go at least two days. It made for a very short and tiring day that we didn't want to leave the dunes so soon. Make sure you take plenty of gas because it definetly burns up alot faster.
