Fistfull

It was a long way to go for a race but we had a good visit with family too.
Anyhoo, The Bushwackers Club hosted this MRAN race, and get high marks for doing a good job.
I have only been doing this racing thing for about a year now and this was the best course I have raced. At the start there was a couple of miles of single track through the Pinons then about a 1/2 mile of dirt road onto another single track section. The whole course was set up this way, sections of single track connected by blasts down what ever road was handy to the course. The course ranged from a 2 foot wide sand wash down through a sage brush flat that ran on for five miles to a switch back road climb topping out about 8000' elevation with an awesome view from the ridge line (wish I would have had time to stop and check it out) to a single track rear tire sliding decent for a mile and a half. There was only about a half mile that had been whooped out, for the most part is seemed like the course had not been raced on before. There were some interesting sections, 200 yards of bowling ball sized rocks, all square edged, most embedded in the ground, lots of flying Ws there. 36 miles of this twice, it was hoot.
The dust was thick and unrelenting, the ground is silty in that area.
There was no preriding.
It was a dead engine start (couple of those Yammy guys really hated that).
The Bushwackers had an army of people out on the course.
The course was almost over marked.
I recommed it for a fun weekend race.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
