Hey all we are heading to glamis friday afternoon we will be there friday night till sunday ? If anyone is interested pm me or reply to this post. There are not many cool weather trips left to the dunes so you all might want to take advantage of these last few.. Look forward to meeting some new ra members. Ok here is the deal I guess we are camping at wash 4 or 5 and looking for a white ford flareside with a fox sticker on the back or grey chevy 2500hd with a 26ft weekend warrior. cell works call us or stop by 623-826-5490

660RS27, it's very easy to find. Coming from Tucson/Phoenix on I-8, take the Ogilby exit, which isn't too far past the Border Patrol check point, and follow it until it comes to a T in the road. (In a p/u, it will take about 30 minutes or so) Hang a left, and go towards Glamis. You'll come to a railroad crossing. SLOW DOWN!!! As you cross the tracks, look to your left, and you will see a dirt road going south next to the tracks. Make sure you don't pass it. (If you go past the Glamis store, you've gone too far.)
Take that dirt road south, and about a hundred yards or so on your right will be a pay station to get a weekend pass, etc. I believe wash 4 or 5 "should" be the next right. Besides the vehicles mentioned above, look for a silver extra cab Dodge Ram with a flat bed trailer, a white 2004 f250 pulling a huge toy hauler, 2 R/V's, one of which is pulling a white 28' enclosed trailer. Thanks Justin for posting this I wasn't totally for sure what to look for alan gave me some rough instructions but it looks like we will be pulling in together, look forward to meeting all and we should be leaving phoenix approx 3:30pm on friday.

No problen, glad I could help out. Well...another potential SNAFU for us....my friend's children have both come down with some sort of stomach virus, and are taking turns spewing.... Since I'm riding with them,we're apparently gonna play it by ear, and see how they're doing in the AM. Might be getting started alittle later than we anticipated, or if they don't improve by the afternoon, our trip may be called off. Hopefully we can make it, as I'd like to meet you all. If we don't make it, I hope you all have a safe, and fun weekend!!!

Well, I made it...my friend and his family didn't. They definately missed out on a rather...um...entertaining weekend!!! Weather was kind of windy Friday, but eventually calmed down, and Saturday was beautiful. No one got injured, and no bikes got blown up. Made some new friends that I hope to share many more rides with. Oh and if some pics get posted....I plead the fifth.

I learned two things on this trip:
1. If people say 'nobody in our group drinks very much'...THEY LIE (Mike and Alan!!!)[:0]
2. NEVER, EVER try to keep up (drinking) with someone 4 times your size!! It hurts the next day![xx(]

I had a great time with everyone. I hope we can all do it again soon! It was great meeting all of you!:D

Yes it did, but it didn't blow up...lol!!! That was a freak accident that I've never ever seen happen before. We did put away some drinks didn't we!!! I was hurting too....never again...until next time that is!!!

Hummm...I'm gonna figure out a way to take it with me so I can take pics of people jumping and doing crazy stuff. You know...good action shots! There has to be a way to mount something (not permanente)on a bike so if you crash (no comment Justin!)the camera will survive.

If anyone has any bright ideas...

LOL..What...you crash...never...just play'n. I'd take a cheap one out, cause no matter what you do, sand is gonna find it's way in. I'd roll it up in a small towel, then put it in a quart sized ziplock bag, then bury it in my backpack.
