I have been riding sections of the Old Bush Highway that used to be the primary road (unpaved) from Mesa to Payson that was used in the early 1900's. Plus, I have been riding all of the trails on both sides of SR 87 between Lower Sycamore and Sunflower. This Tuesday I am hoping to ride all over Mt. Ord and in the Mazatzal Mountains. These areas are a little more remote and the walk back to the truck is too far if I'm riding by myself and have a break down, I have yet to see another living soul on any of these trails during the week. The scenery is fantastic, I have seen Deer, Tortoise and Javelina over the past couple of weeks. There are two mines in that area that I would like to find over the next couple of weeks also. If you are interested send me PM.
On future rides, I plan on riding from east of Payson to Heber and from Young to Snowflake. I'm street legal, but avoid the roads if at all possible.

Hey Dave, I'll be up for riding in the middle of the week, but not for a few weeks as it's hunting season right now and I'm still breaking in my new ranger. You must have a job like mine.

I probably do have the similar hours. Did you draw either the archery or the early elk rifle hunts?
I do have a Ranger also, I really like it, but I mostly use that as the family jeep in the mountains or take it to Rocky Point. My Sportsman is the one I use for my explorations.

Most of the areas that I have a way around some of the larger rocks, I think a sport bike would be ok. I may head out to the Mt. Ord area tomorrow morning. I have ridden around Anthem and am willing to go that way on future rides also. Let me know if you can make it on short notice. Next week I am going to try to find the mine north of Roosevelt by Jake's Corner. Thanks for the private messages. Let me know when any of you can make it. I have trailer that fits 5 quads. We could car pool from Fountain Hills.
