Anybody on a DS get Extra hassled but the police while on the pavement. I have seen lot of sport bikers pulled over and I have gotten a lot of dirty looks from the Po Po but never been pulled over although I have all the Street legal equipment , and seldom break any traffic laws, just wanted some feed back on you guys and you machines
never on the XR's. when I used to ride sportbikes a lot I got hassled more, but usually I deserved it.

I've gotten looks and 180's to check for tags and mirrors. Also got followed several times for what I assume was to see if my brake light worked and see if I would signal turns...but haven't been pulled over.
You usually get more dirty/odd looks from other bikers.

The harley guys,Except my co-pilot Ball bearing seem to NOT give the unversial left hand point biker wave, most other bikes do

Hmm that's weird... when I'm riding my XR650 I normally don't expect waves from any bikers, but it's just the opposite. I get more waves from the Harley guys and the crotch rocket guys on my XR then I do when I'm on my Blackbird.
I've never been hassled by any cops either. Usually if you're all geared up and look legal they won't bother you. I was out at Bartlett a few months ago on my XR and was doing about 80 mph through the twisties down to the marina, little did I know a deputy was behind me. He hit his siren a few times and pulled me over. I thought I was busted big time. After he saw that I had registration, insurance, and a motorcycle license, he let me go with a warning. I guess it was my lucky day...

80 in a 45 or 35 zone...that would have been a nice fine...

Yep... If he had wanted to be a dick about it, he could have easily impounded my bike and carted me off to jail.:(

So far, so good on this end, although I'm somewhat surprised as my XR650R is kinda f'in loud.
I always give the MC cops a prolonged "wave." Perhaps that's helping!

It's a rare occasion when a LEO even gives me a second look. I think being 'ATGATT' helps project an image that you ride responsibly. Another factor could be that people think that a DS is hindered while riding on pavement (little do they know ).
My DS is "minimalist" at best, dinky tail light, no turn signals, useless mirror and the only time I have ever been pulled over was in Ouray, Colorado and he just wanted to make sure my plates were up to date.

My wife was followed a couple of times on her Metropolitan scooter (49cc)by the po po. Not sure why. She is completley legal (even has mc license). I'm thinking they like the way she sits on the seat. They never follow me.:(
We were racing one morning to "The Place" for breakfast and I stopped at the stop sign.....and she ran it at full speed. I couldn't catch her so I lost. I told the po po what she did (cause they eat there too) and they said she was smarter than me.:swear:
Hey Joe, I give the gay wave once in a while when I'm feelin' cool:kiss:
