Does anyone go the the Dunes and ride at night, r=then come back home? Just wondering cause I've got the shakes right now. I'm Dune thirsty and can't stop talking about them with my fellow riders.[V][|)]

Even though I would like to go now I will have to wait until mid October and hope the temperatures are down.

Last year we were chomping at the bit to get to the dunes before Halloween and the weekend before it was still above 100 degrees during the day. :(

We've done some summer night rides at Glamis. Arrive about 8PM (sundown), leave around 9AM (too hot to stay). It's been a mixed bag... Two out of three trips were hot and DRY. Unbelieveably low humidity sucks the moisture right out of you. The other one (which I didn't go on) was cool enough to be enjoyable.
HAVE GOOD LIGHTS ON YOUR VEHICLE! Going during a full moon helps a little, but you're all alone out there in the summer, there are no tracks to follow and the sand is in a different pattern than in the winter. Some places you won't even recognize. If you can't see well it's not very enjoyable, unless you like crashing a lot.
Finding a camping spot is really easy.

One of the items I am going to put on my Raptor before season starts is an additonal set of lights. The factory lights are subpar and the sand pitted lens don't help the matter.

St Anthony's is in Idaho.
I'm heading there August 13th. Not to ride but play in a local golf tournament. I wonder if my Raptor will make it there on a full tank of fuel[?]LOLquote:Originally posted by Lucky
