View Full Version : Dual Sport Ripoff
The guy I bought this bike from said is would be a great dual sport bike.....WRONG. Did the first test drive today...first part of the dual sport ride (Mesa to Morristown) was great..... it is just a 'Highway Eater'....but when I got to the 'off road' part....it pretty much sucked. Was really squirrley at 45-50 mph in the wash it is way to heavy and just dosen't have enough suspension to be a serious 'off road' machine.
I think the guy tricked me........

What are we doing with the lumber on the back of the Rokon?
You know if you put the two two-wheelers together you might get a dual sport. ;)
Sarcastic......not even..... you are thinking of the wrong person.
Nice looking bike, Roy. What happened to the four wheel thing?
Still using the good, lucky helmet I see.
Since you got a new bike you should spring for some fresh duct tape on that lucky helmet. :)
would probably do better in the wash with a paddle tire.

you need different tires...i just ate another rear on my harley. i'll put a knobby on it and we can do lane trail again.
i took my harley from lake mary road down fs91 to long park last summer to drink a couple of beers with a friend at his cabin before heading down the hill to 110 degrees...had no problems, just those damn pig tires don't like rocks
i'm bringing back one of my big wheels, or both when i come back from RP next tuesday. we need to hook up for a manley ride and go UP lane:cool:
Oh great another single tracker snob
If I had that Rokon, I'd have a swing arm on it already LOL !!

I think you just need a little more speed and she will stay on top of the whoops.
Is that Harold's camper?
Harold is testing the Rokon...we have decided that the seat and seat suspension are crap and need some fine tuning...so Harold did some pre fab work with some wood out of the junk pile. Right now we are running 5 inches of spring from an old bed he found in the wash near where he is camping covered with 1 inch of foam sitting on a piece of plywood....were talking up town redneck here....but it's cheap for finding the right solution.

The KTM 950 is a blast to ride and is a real dual sport. But my friends 950 cant hang with my xr650r in the dirt.
