Thats right, they finally desided to make it fair. You still have to pre-register by the deadline, but all starting positions will be drawn out of a hat at the riders meeting before the start of every race. By class of course. If you don't preregister, then you'll be in the back.

Now the rich kids can't get the #1 start position for every race by pre-registering for the all the races before the season starts.

I better call tomorrow and get the registration started. I just hope I have everything I need on the quad to race. I would be kindof heart broken if they turn me away because of something simple.

I bought a skid plate, nerfbars, and kill switch. I think that is all I need, other than that the quad is stock enough it has all the factory safety chit I think which does exceed the minimum requirement.

Make sure your helmet has not only the "DOT" aproval on it ,but also "SNELL 2000" stamped as well. Tech will be looking at that foremost. Phil # 611 quote:Originally posted by Zhvonte

From what I have seen with Whiplash over the past year and a half of running their events, unless you show up with a real hunk of s**t, they are not going to turn you away. They have been listing the tether style kill switch on the race ads as mandatory for ATVs, but I have heard of people racing without them. If you don't have one, you may want to consider it, but they would probably just tell you to make sure and have it for next time.

Ok, I'm odd man out maybe, but I saved up my cash and pre-entered for all the races. Hoping that the savings and forethought would allow for a better pill. If they're going to draw numbers, that sorta stinks for me. Dez

Well you still have to pre-register to be able to be in the pill drawing. So you just made sure there is no possible way that you can forget to send in your entry on time and get stuck in the back. I've done that a few times. I would be so busy getting everything squared away to race and forget to get the pre-entry in time.

Like I said, I'm happy about it. Those that work for Whiplash and race too, always started in the first or second row of their class.

Lighten up Francis :D

I think it is a very good idea. It gives everyone a fair chance. I wish they would have done that years ago. I was tired of chasing people through the dust. At least it is done on luck not money.

Now if we could just get them to change their points system, we'd have it made.

You get too many extra bonus points for pre-registing and other non-race related things. If I don't pre-register and win a rce, the guy who gets fourth or fifth place that did pre-register gets more points than me. Not cool. You get 5 points for pre-registering but there is only 1 point spread between finish positions. If I get busy and forget to pre-register as I do a lot and win which I don't do a lot there are five other guys that finish behind me that get more or the same points as me.

They did that so that more people would pre-register and not clog up registration on race day. So you're getting more points for making their job easier. Good for them, bad for us.

I don't think you should get 5 bonus points for finishing either.

Points should be for finishing positions ONLY, if you don't finish you get no points.

I also believe we should get one throw away race for that race that you left your bottle of good luck at home.

I like the idea about one throw out race. Of course there is more than one race you would like throw out in a year, but I agree with you David.
