The dirt bike GODS have been very very good to me - Racerfisk likes new 450CRF! Racerfisk do big wheelie for many many miles. Acceleration is UNREAL. 600XR may be lonely and feeling a little left out now.

That's alright, I'll give the ole pig a work out for you if you want;)
I couldn't believe the throttle response on Mark's new CRF450. He let me ride it at the Poker Run (I think he's got a screw loose).
It is almost like the throttle is too touchy. Evertime I'd hit an off chamber and roll back on my heals, the dang thing would try to jump out from underneath me. I suggested to Mark that he should take a handful of sand and grind it into the throttle tube. Then again I guess a guy could get used to something like that if he was forced to, damn the luck.
The clutch is another nice feature. When I pulled it in the first time I thought it was broken. I had to look down and see if the cable was connected. No more arm pump from clutch pull for Mark. The stock suspension wasn't bad either. Kind of harsh on the choppy stuff, but it wasn't all the way broke in.
The only complaint I have about the bike, and I know it only had stock gearing, was the too slow top speed. I was coming down the road towards the pits and I was thinking that I better not run it flat out because he was still breaking it in and the next thing I know I'm fifth tapped. It felt like I could get off and run next to the bike. I guess I'm just used to the WR tranny and taller gearing.
I can't wait to get her out on the MX track if the offer is still good that is.

Good to see Fistfull, Racerfisk, & El-Gato this weekend at the poker run. Yes, The new CRF450 is one nice machine! you know that old 600 will make a great pit bike now. It was a good day for El-Gato. He had 2 brand new bikes to ride this weekend! The only trouble was once he saw Todd Johnson hit the trail, he jumped on that old 600 to give a challage! Racerfisk wondered off to brake-in the 450, so that left me & Fistfull to go on the poker run on our own. Had a fun ride, taking it a little easy braking in my new XR650[:p] Time we all got back to the pits, it was time for a burger & brew:D Then off to work for me[V] See you guys in 2 weeks for the race. :(BIG SPILL means big riding after hours. Dragging the new travel trailer to Jakes Corner RV Park for the next 4 weeks. Three miles to job site and 100 yards to PARADISE riding. Let's get some brothers together & download @ my RV & ride the backroads / single track to YOUNG, AZ baby. John's KTM pals have this ride dialed & it is freaking awsome. Just bad luck on my part to have to stay @ Jakes. Don't tell my boss - 10/4 :D

Yea Phil - This ride will be all good! From Jakes Corner we use a "private" road through a ranch that I can get permission to ride on. It dumps U into lower Tonto Creek and to the jeep roads that go above Gisela to the east and then north east to Young. Lot's of old mine shacks and cool stuff to explore. Several ranch gates to close but the VIEW and trails are worth the effort.[8D]See ya @ MM # 11 soon[:I]
