We purchased a 2011 RZR 800s. We take delivery tomorrow! Then, have to wait to license it so we can street drive it to the trails. We have lots of trails right outside Green Valley.

Welcome & Congrats.

Where are the trails, the only ones are out to Box canyon over to Hwy 83 or over Gun Sight Pass. I guess you could go out to the Montana area South of town but small time stuff with lots of illegals. If you head any further south than town, make sure you are armed, siriusly!

Do you have a way to trailer or are you limited to driving from your home? If you can trailer, I live just South of you!

There are a number of trails just east of us in the Santa Ritas- just north of Box Canyon rd. Up by that Buxite mine, is the ghost town and old movie set (not much left anymore) of Helivicha (SP). There is a 4x4 road to Patagonia also. My wife is really looking for a group to ride with. There are a couple of groups here in GV I guess. At present we do not have a trailer and are sort of trying to get along without one- no place to store one. We are just getting into this sport so time will tell. I do carry when we are out- and other times also!! One of the reasons we purchased is to do things together. Time will tell....

Yup those are the ones I was talking about but they are all long drives on flat roads before you get to 4 wheeling. The road over to Patagonia is so tore up currently with rocks (not the kind that are fun, the annoying stuff) from the BP that the last time I was out a couple of weeks ago we abandoned the drive over and just drove to the top of the peak. Kind of hard to get to the good stuff without a trailer. You can rent them from U-Haul there in GV. Yeah, got our SXS so my better 3/4's could go out with me more often. She is my prime riding buddy! All my riding buddies got too old or hurt and their partners started giving them too much static so quit.

yeah those are good rides, like rocmoc said a trailer will make you much happier. Long dirt roads get old. I bought a ranger over a year ago to have more family time with my wife and daughter, well time has told for us and they don't like it at all. I don't get it, They like camping, hiking and roller coasters but they hate off-roading. I wish you better luck.

I figured I'd rent a U-haul for taking in the RZR for service. Being new to the game we will see what happens and ??? And yes.. it is a bit of a ride to the trails- we went out with friends a few weeks ago.. and it was "cold"... As I said time will tell!
thanks for the note!

There is a large group in Quail Creek that gets together for trail rides every week. Not exactly sure how to get in contact with them. There is an older fella by the name of Gene who kinda heads it up. Most of them have RZR's and they love to get out all the time.

If you are inerested I could get ahold of Gene and get him in contact with you. Just let me know.

I would be more than grateful! In fact a friend and I went over to Quail creek today looking for the group- We didn't get there till about 8:30 of so.. They were probably gone! Had our RZR delivered today!! Still need plates tho to drive over and be street legal. Please have Gene give me a call!
Ron Stein 393-7321- Leave a message if we are not home- Really appreciate it!!
Thanks!

Quail Creek is a "Robsen" (sp) housing development company that built a community just east of Green Valley AZ. It consists of homes, golf course, club house etc. Robsen has similar developments up in Phoenix around SunCity & Surprise AZ. Mostly retirement housing areas. To be a bit more specific, It actually is a retirement community.

We went up to Sierra Vista and priced etc... we don't have a trailer so would have had to pay for delivery- not a big problem tho.. and then we did go to RideNow here in Tucson on 22nd street. They really gave us a top deal, and threw in a few goodies. We didn't accept the first deal they threw at us. I think some of the tough economy is starting to show up. I could not believe the inventory they have in their back warehouse!!! They changed seats for us as the model we chose had white on the top of the seats- and we went for the all black. Funny thing tho- they gave us a few things but didn't itemize them on the bill of sale- like, they didn't want anyone to come back and say"You gave them this and that"...Even threw in a $100 gift card!! We are satisfied for the moment!

We went on a ride down to Patagonia last week- down thru Kentucky camp- had lunch in Patagonia and came backup thru the Sonora Ranch and just west of Elephant head- Trail were pretty good- a bit rough here and there but easily passable-8 units went in all! Yes it is a few mile to get to box canyon but not bad!

The original notice was way back in 2011 and since we have found a few people in GV to ride with. We usually ride with a group out of Quail creek. We found them thru a friend. My wife and I both work, so riding is a treat we enjoy. This sport has grown by leaps and bounds and more and more people have units. We do like riding in groups due to the local area problems. We all carry. Thanks for the offer. This group is all Polaris UTVs not that matters. in fact a couple of the group is from Sahuarita.
