Hell yah, I would love to do it. Are you taking the new trailer?

I have heard that this is the best Hare and Hound AMA puts on.

The only thing that could put a dampner on things is the Baja-500 at the end of May.

I'll prob take the trailer, it'll be a pain getting there and back but I think it will be worth it :D
I'll be leaving Phoenix early Friday morning the 9th and returning the Sunday the 11th.

I'll have to see what I have going when it gets closer.

May 3rd is the Rocky Point race, and June 1st is Cinders AND the Baja-500, and April 26th is the Terrible Town-250. Logistically no problem, financially is a different story.
Maybe I could ride with you and split the cost. I would really like to do this race.

David Gronlund,

I may do it with Dayton on the XR's Only bike. Just waiting to hear the logistics. I hope they pay for a lot.

It's a good 12 hour haul and that's constantly moving. Cherry Creek has some of the best riding in one place. The White Sands campground is nearby and so is Little Sahara State Park, home of the country's largest in-land dunes. The Sugarloafers do an excellent job and re-emphasize how great an event can be when a club and not a promoter is putting it on.

I ran it 11 years ago and have wanted to run it every year since. It's everything in one course, and not road racing. [:0]

I used to ride there almost every weekend when I lived in Ogden. Now I had to move here and have crappy riding. [:p]

Any room in the lil' blue diesel hauler for an "iron sleeved sieze queen"? :D

Myself and a few others are driving up to the race, May 10th. What a long drive but what a cool race. All right, who else is in? I know the Fist is going. What about Phil#611 and the others?

Count me in. If anything like the Sageriders event two weeks ago it will be a blast.

It's at least as good if not better. They've ran it for 43 years now. Maybe we ought to convoy?

I would really like to break the drive up into two days on the way up. That means leaving on Thursday at some time and making it to Mesquite, maybe(cheap hotels on Thursday night?). It makes Friday's drive more manageable. Also, I drove the whole thing in one day two weeks ago and paid for it come race day. I have to drive straight through on the way back Saturday so it's going to be rough enough as it is. If this works let me know.

I'll be pulling out of Gilbert about 6:00 Thrusday evening. The plan is to spend the night in Flag then hit the road north early Friday morning. I'm taking the warrior so we will be spending the night where ever the wheels stop rolling :D

Isn't that way a lot further(and slower) then going through Vegas.

Don't know the difference in distance, I've never went through Vegas. If the distance is close to the same, the time it takes me will be about the same. I try not to tow the trailer faster than 65. Another question, are they letting RVs cross the dam??

They where letting RV's and trailers over last weekend, just no commercial vehicles. They will inspect yor though.

Ken

It's going to be expensive, but of course that's only an estimate.

Ah my previous life as a big red diesel pilot, the landing registered on the Ricter scale. Lil blue is somewhat lighter on it's feet. :D

The race it was taken at, put it on your calendar, Sept 13, Pioche Nevada. Bestest most fun course I have raced on, entry fee was $35.00 plus $5.00 for a one day MRAN license.

I dunno, I'd have to run it to see if I like it better than Cherry Creek.

ALRIGHT, who's going from here?

Me and a friend are leaving out Thursday late afternoon for Vegas, spending the night in N. Vegas with in-laws, then hitting the road early enough to get to the race site and do the jet and bike check thing. Anyone want to convoy from Vegas or pit together? We have a few friends from Idaho showing up but we have no pit set up so maybe we need a collective pit?

Fistfull
05/04/03, 8:33 PM
A collective pit would be good.
I hope to be there early Friday afternoon.
Look for a Dodge (big silver/gray diesel :D) toatin a 33' Weekend Warrior. Has a Whiplash sticker across the windshield. See ya there.

Sorry but we're bagging out. Too many reasons to stay around the homefront this weekend.

Maybe it's time to start planning for Elsinore?
