I went and enjoyed it. My son-in-law won a spray in bed liner.

We went and were a little disapppointed. I didn't like paying $8 (x 4 family members) for the opportunity to buy something from someone. We DID enjoy looking at the toyhaulers, sand cars, and other cool stuff...but it was not what I was expecting/hoping for.

Since last year was the first year I would think this year would be bigger and better. :)

I think the timing stinks!!! I will be in the dunes as I was last year. Now I went to the SSSS the last 2 years, and that is truley the best! These guys should wait till after Spring break to put on a show like this, cause I would go but the dunes come first! Now and forever!!!

Dune Then Shop!;)

I met one of the promoters of this show a month ago. He told me how they are working hard at increasing the number of vendors & manufacturers that will attend.

From speaking with this person, I get the impression the promoter is making every effort to expand the show from the previous. You may want to look at their web page www.arizonasandexpo.com

The other interesting aspect of this show is the combination of choppers & trucks. I also think if the promoter could hold the show prior to the start of dune season that the sand portion of the show would be better attended.

The date falls on one of our "off" dune weekends so most of our crew will be attending. I fully support this show and look forward to the move to the fairgrounds.

I got a chuckle about someone complaining about paying to attend a show to have the opportunity to buy something from someone. I am guessing that the reason any vendor pays $ to set-up at any show is to display/promote his or her products to increase revenues (what an interesting concept).

I'm going. Been thinking of a toy hauler. What better place than this. Should be more than a few there to compare. You cant touch and feel online. Maybe even meet some of the shop owners from our local area. I would like to find a shop that is like Waynes was (custom cycle). The money I would spend on gas driving place to place would cost tripple the entry fee. Plus you never know what you'll find or learn at one of these deals. May even meet some peps from this site.

There was not very many toyhaulers there last year. You might want to try the annual RV show also.

Quadrider...I am the someone who "complained about paying to attend a show to have the opportunity to buy something from someone". I understand very well the concept of vendors paying $ to set up at a show to "display/promote his or her products to increase revenues". That's called marketing/advertising...and in most businesses that is an expense borne indirectly by the consumer when he buys the product, not as a "entry fee" in order to go in and see the product. For this same reason, I complain every year when my wife makes me renew my Costco membership. :D I know that the idea is that you pay for the "show" and not just for the "opportunity to buy something", but Otter asked for opinions on the show, so I gave mine, funny as it might have been.

I personally having no issue paying an admission fee to something I want to see. If I didn't want to see it and still had to pay then I'd have issue.

But for those of you interested, most of the vendors who are showing product at any of these events receive from the promoters "free admission tickets". I bet if you went and visited one or two the vendors prior to the this coming weekend you may be able to score some free passes. The vendors receive the "free coupons" to help drag traffic in the door as well as a show of apreciation for commiting to such an event.

I mention visiting a couple of vendors because some are more generous than others when it comes to handing out the goodies.

Does anyone know what hours the show will be open. I've looked at the site and it just shows the dates not the hours. I was thinking about going early Friday but don't want to show up before it opens.

I went last year and got some smoking deals on jerseys ($10) and pants ($35. Bags ($35 or $40)for Christmas gifts!!! Had money left over to put the names on all the jerseys!!! I want to say they were O'Neils!!!!

I am going again this year to do X-mas shopping plus looking around for womans motocross pants!!! (better than internet prices)

The best sand show is in Orange County prior to dune season, and I know the AZ vendors that go that direction are trying very hard to lure the CA vendors this way for the AZ show!!!!

I agree there were not that many toy haulers at last year show, but space was premium!! The fairgrounds should fix that!!!

Here is a phone number that might help with the hours of the event 480-899-6458, even though it is for vendors and sponsors!!! I would give it a try anyway!!!

Best of luck!!!

ksand...I didn't intend to get something started by the "chuckle comment", and not to get off topic.

However, it does seem odd to me that in this day & age it is worth the time to complain about paying a fee to attend any show, whether it's ATVs, gun's, vehicles, etc. Right or wrong the promoters charge an entrance fee and as a society we continue to pay.

As someone said earlier here, a show like this is an opportunity to see many products in one place relating to ATVs & dunning without driving all over to the individual business's.

It's a safe bet to say that many people in this community spend thousands on ATVs/dunning, so I really don't think the entrance & parking fee to go to a show like this is going to make much of a difference.

I may be wrong, but I think we are fortunate to have a local show like this to attend and I am hoping the promoters/vendors will succeed and it will continue to improve in years to come. Peace

I plan on being there again this year. True it is not as big as the SSSS in Ca. but you have to start somewhere. The show should be a lot bigger and better than last year. The best part of the shows (any of them) is going and seeing all the new STUFF, even if you can not afford any of it. To support our sport, we need to support the people who help make our sport. This means the vendors and promoters. GO check it out. You might meet more new people who enjoy the sport (and RA members) Even though I have been a RA member for a while, that is where I met Shannon last year.

Quadrider...no hard feelings. I appreciate the engaging discussion. I understand and appreciate all of your arguments. I should have focused more on the "show" part of the Show and not on the "shopping" part. I still don't like to pay to view and purchase others' goods. I wish I could get away with that in MY business!!

I hope everyone who DOES go to the Sand Show enjoys it!

I went tonight and I liked it. Many things there, i really like the helmet I've been looking at,its normaly $130, but I picked up the same one for $80 at the show. Cant wait to use it this weekend. There were a lot more quads this year i was impressed, and lots of very nice machinery!

I went to the Sand Show today. It was larger than last year even though they could use more quads there. There were lots and lots of sandlimos of every type. The custom choppers were top rate.

I Went to the show today (Sunday). Turn out was pretty good lots of vendors and some pretty good deals on "cary out products" (pants shirts hat sunglasses etc.

There are a ton of sand rails and and lots of street bike (custom cycles). I would encourage all to go check it out next year when it comes around again.

There was som pretty good show deals as mentioned. We got some Thor Gloves for 7 dollars, Oneal Jerseys for 10 dollars, cheap flags of all types. It was nothing compared to the SSSS, but if we keep supporting it who knows what will happen in the future.

I was not impressed. If the show was held alittle bit earlier in the year maybe it would be better. They needed more atv products.
