Hello, JonQ, we have several members in the Northern Valley area.

JonQ,
I live in goodyear (actually in a chunk of unincorporated county) right by the white tanks and try to ride every weekend. We are primarily two wheelers but we don't discriminate. If you are not familiar with the white tanks you have been missing some good riding (and shooting). Most of the time we ride either around the tanks (about 50 - 60 mi.) or up to Rip Griffins truck stop for lunch. Let me know if your interrested.

RL:
There is a ton of riding on the south and the north side of the White Tanks. Quickly, south side: I-10 west to watson road and park anywhere. There is riding to the north into the mountains that will actually take you all the way around the west side of the mountains to Bell Road on power-line/jeep trails. There is riding westward all the way to Rip Griffins truck stop. North Side: Bell road to where Bell starts to curve around the north side of the mountains. There is some OUTSTANDING single-track that will really challenge your throttle hand. The single-track will definitely wear you out.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, been on vacation.

Ragdoll,

I'm interested in taking that 60 mile trip around the white tanks with you and whoever else wants to go. Just give me a time and a place and I'll be there. Email me at scottwilky@hotmail.com.

I thought the west side was being closed (east side of SVP)since it was annexed by Buckeye...I ride west of SVP & over to Belmont mtns but haven't done "Watson" area yet since I hear it is in Buckeye City limits now. Anyone heard of annexed area around White Tanks?

Robert, even if the area was annexed by the city of Buckeye, there is no sign of a remote enforcement of a closure. Not all of it was annexed anyway. This area is HUGE.

I go out to Buckeye(Miller road) about every two weeks and the only thing the local police had to say to me is "ride safe and have fun"

Great! I like hearing that...Thanx. I know several months ago there were signs at several entrances from I-10 to near Crozier on the east side of SVP (annexed area) but have seen no one or signs in recent months...Have always wanted to ride that area but wasn't sure anymore. Sounds like I better head that way!

I am not sure about everything out behind the White tanks but one thing did happen that is not good. Toyota had a pending lawsuit against the developers of …. I think it is Festival ranch which is on the North and West Sides of SVP, Toyota dropped the suit so the planners can now move ahead. The plans call for about 125,000 people out there. Another thing that is pending is a public vote in Buckeye. I am not sure what the specific issue is but it does concern land annexation in that area. I will try to post a picture later of Western Maricopa County planning for this area. You will see development On the East side of SVP most of the way to I10, West of SVP to well West of the Hassayampa, down jackrabbit wash, South to I10 and North to the Toyota test track. This may take 20 years to get done but I am sure we will start seeing more private property signs going up soon. [V]
