Just got back from a camp wood last minute trip. The riding was great the trails were sweet and not a whole lot of people. A little cool at night but well worth it. I am amazed every trip there we seem to find a new trail we didn't ride last time. Does anyone know if most of the trails are on the forest service maps? Going back in 3 weeks can't wait man I love camping in the pines.

NEVERENOUGH,
Get a PNF map. Use the heck outta mine. Have 2 in fact, one worn out I carry in my saddle bags and another I use for reference at home. And no, it won't cover everything, but it sure helps. Definately a must have.
We we really enjoy Camp Wood too. Great area. Seldom many out there ('cept for Memorial W/E. RA's taken over...). Great ridin' for all.

Where is camp wood and how do you get there from the surprise area. I have heard it is very nice to camp and ride there.
Thanks for any directions, I want to head up there this weekend.

Do you have to have RV plates to ride at Camp Wood?
Go really fast down that hill. If anything gets in your way, turn.

husky390,
Technically, by law, you are required to have RV plates to ride anywere. Most areas do not enforce this. Yet. See this topic:

Camp Wood you would be ok. Prescott National Forest is very OHV friendly.
