View Full Version : Taking poll on the Cinders?

We are still planning a benifit ride for Jim Chapman. When? later september? Why the Cinders? Because we feel that not only bikes & quads could come out, but even 4x4's & rails could join in on the action.
I know we all just took a beating fron the race last sunday, but Don Hood of the ATR & poker fun runs is going to set up permitts & details. We feel the turn out would be much greater & stand a chance of collecting larger donitions. We still have give-away prize's & hope to get more. Please post if you are willing to come out & ride here. Again, I know we are still sore from the race, but remember there are a lot of other trails to ride on out in the Cinders
We need to gather a poll resuslts ASAP so we start on permitt & plan other details. Thank You, Phil # 611

That's a great place to have a benefit. Sure the race course sucks, but that's just a very small portion of the area. The Forest Service makes them run on the same exact trails every year. If Jay could choose the trails he wanted to run on that race could be awesome. It's very nice up there in September.
I'll be there sitting under a cool pine tree sipping on a cocktail.

I'm in. There is sooooooooooooo many fun twisting, up, and, down trails there, that I every time I go out there I find more. September up there from the about the middle to end of the month is cold in the morning (possible frost) and perfect during the day. One more thing, it will even more dusty than last weekend. That is a dry time of year, right before the first snow.

Phil,
Thanks for the complement yesterday. My schedule is atrocious in August and September. I know you can't work around me but I thought I would let you know anyway. The best weekend for me would be August 2 & 3. I could also make it on August 9 & September 13. I know it's not much but it's all I have. August might be nice with all the monsoon rain keeping the dust down. Just a thought.
Thanks for all the good work,
Travis Epperson

If at all possible I will be there.
But, if by some huge stroke of luck, I hit it big in the hunt lottery, I will be busy in late September :D.

Fist, Good luck I hope you get drawn. That is a great time knocking down some Wapiti. I have never hunted before, but when I lived in Flag my roomate was a HUGE hunter, anything, and everything he put in for. Three years ago he drawn for 5B north for archery bull. It was hotter than HE** that year with no rain, which means no animals. The last day he finally knocked one down. It took him about five hours to find it, but got one.

Assuming it's for sure the 13th I'll bring the whole Fam Damily up. Antelope isn't until 9/26 and black powder elk is in November (if the hunt draw gods are kind to me this year).

Sorry, looks like due to scedule conficts with the ATR & the other planned RA fun runs we will have to make another plan. Most likely we will have to wait till mid December. I think now we will either do something at the Lake Pleasent MM 11.5 or maybe at out the Rolls area. I'll post more as I receive better imfo. Thank you for your repies & watch site for up-dates.

Phil,
Have you thought about a grand prix race at canyon? That way even the family members who don't ride can watch and participate in raffles or whatever we can plan. If we wait until it cools I am sure the turnout would be great. We could cook hot dogs and hamburgers to raise more money. Who knows maybe Jim would be able to come out so we can show him how we all care about a fellow rider. We could also do a 2nd fundraiser poker run at mm11 at a later time to help at the holiday's.

Yo 611 [:p] time to get organized ! Lot's of great ideas but it's time to put the Benefit Committee togrther. Suggest Whiplash Racers along with Whiplash Staff & Shannon or RA represenatives sit down over ice tea & get this thing ironed out. Lets start a new topic with volunteers for the Committee & go from there. [8D]
