View Full Version : AZ riding
Hey Everyone
I am new to the site (Awesome site) I am looking for people to tell me about some great areas here in AZ to ride. I would like people to tell me the areas they ride frequently or great areas they have riden.
If possible i would like people to rate the areas. I ride with a pretty good size group of people and we are just looking for some new areas. State Trust Land or marked trails does not matter. Hopefully will see some of you guys and gals out on the trails or in these areas.
Thank you

i would suggest you look through the trail guide section and use that as a start point. the trails are rated for difficulty and contain discriptions.

Smoke,
There's just sooo many places to ride state-wide.
Your question is easier to answer if it's a bit more specific in area.
This forum, Trails and OHV Areas, also has a lot of info.
Flip through these pages and the archived posts.
The Photo Album also.

I have only been in AZ a relatively short time my self but I have been to 2 areas that seem to be pretty good. One is bushnell tanks just off of Hwy 87 on the right, a few miles north of the Salt River (it is on the right and is marked). The other is box canyon out in Flourance Junction. It is just past the 79 junction on the right side of Hwy 60. The entrance is directly across from the Queen Valley sign. Both are a little warm this time of the year but fun all the same.
If its fast enough to do something stupid on, I'll ride it!

Smoke,
What part of the valley do you live in?

I live in the east valley do quite a bit of riding out at the state trust land at the end of Elliott Rd between Ellsworth Rd and Ironwood Rd North of the ET motopark.

Smoke - 2 pretty good areas to ride at (on the East Valley side) are the Rolls OHV area and Lower Sycamore Creek. Both are just off HWY 87, about 15 minutes northeast from Fountain Hills. Rolls OHV has a decent staging area, lots of scattered trails, and you can take the main dirt road up (and over) Four Peaks mountain (about a 20 mile ride to top). Lower Sycamore creek has trails and some good hillclimbs. It is just past Bush Hwy (Saguaro Lake) exit off 87, on the opposite side of the Hwy
Ciredell thanks for the post I have ridden Four peeks, did enjoy that quite a bit want to get up to Sycamore for the hill climbing and heard some good jumps up there too. Also want to thank drickman might be heading up to the salt river area he mentioned this weekend to check it out.
