View Full Version : ET Night Practices
Every thursday and friday night 7-11pm. Very cool, literally. I went last night on a last minute plan. It had cooled off a bit and there was some wind and a chance of rain so I decided to give it a try, it was pretty fun. The course is about half of the main track, with a lot more jumps and turns. The O/U is finished and they added some pretty tough jumps. There is one double that I won't be trying for a while. It's right out of the O/U and you don't have much of an approach. Only a couple guys were doing it. The lighting was decent. They just went out and rented a whole bunch of those super powerful construction lights. The track was lit up about the same as tracks I've ridden with permanent lighting. There was some dark spots on take offs and landings, but for the most part it was ridable.
Lot of dust though. They could have used a tad more water, but I would rather ride in dust than in slop. Especially at night.

Thats sweet! I came home on Ironwood lastnight after working, and I saw all the lights and people. When I get my fork seals fixed, I will be out there. Is there a race this Saturday night??

Did they open up the entire main track or leave it shortened for the day practice also?

I went back sunday morning with Todd Johnson and he was flying it just about every lap. He said he had a pretty close call once, but every time I seen him do it he looked pretty darn good. He said you have to hit it flat out and you won't clear it if there is any wheel spin or you slide a bit on the take off. I'm not much of a jumper so I let him do it by himself. I had a blast though, there was only a few people there on sunday morning. I guess everyone was at the race saturday night.

Yep, they even split up the practices into three groups, pewees, big bikes, and quads.

Cool thanx. I dont know y they wont let the quads on there during regular practices, some of the smaller kids are more harful to the bikes then quads? but o well at least they let us on at the night practices, better than no practice

WEll that was fun - I guess we all ate dirt tonight!! What a sand storm! I hope everyone got home safely. We got to meet crfrider - what a great guy! Vincent is the one that ate it big during the second run of big bikes. He is fine though. [B)] His bike on the other hand...anyone know where you can buy handle bars in bulk?? :) I think I saw fistful on the track - were you there? I forgot to take the things I printed off of here so I could figure out who everyone was - but - next time. Vince and Jeff liked the track and I'm sure we will be there again. Hopefully the dirt will only be flying on the track! [8D]

Sorry fella's work and that d@mn nachii virus variant kept me away from the track. It's 22:50 and I'm finally heading home from central phoenix. Glad to hear you all had a good time and no one was seriously hurt.

I was there, it was fun until the big blow hit. I needed a homing beacon when the big blow hit. I advanced stop and go fashion around the track between blinding gusts, I had to stop a couple of times to keep from being blown over [:p]. I did enjoy waiting for Dayton to water the track before it started to rain though :(. They seem to be hell bent on playing with the water trucks out there. [B)]

Is it a nice track? Beginner Friendly. I would ride a yz 125 and my dad a ttr. What time do you think would be the least crowded out there? And also can the bikes ride on the vet track?
