I have heard a rumor that Rocky Point is closed to ATV's. No riding on any of the beaches or streets anywhere?
Is this true???:(

Teri,
A few friends and I are planing a trip down there October 10-12. We still plan to take the quads but would be nice to know if we can still ride them from our condo to the resturants/bars.. sandy beach or wherever.
Do you go down there often? We usually go a few times a year during the cooler months.
There is a jet-ski race down there this weekend I will try to find out about the quads from one of the racers when they get back.

That would really suck!!!
I have heard RUMORS that they were trying to restrict ATV's on the streets in RP, but I've been hearing that for years. Lets hope they didn't make it stick.

Actually no. We've discussed it often though.
Bunk has gone only once. Not to ride, just see the sights.

He is in love with Mexico. Has a sister in Puertocitos, Baja.
I am quite sure the quads will be with us on the next visit.

I talked to a friend yesterday who went to RP this weekend for the jet ski races. He said that it was hot, humid and misserable, not too many people down there this time of year but he did see quads on the streets. I hope that never changes but each year RP seems more and more "civilized" Im sure the days of riding on the streets are numbered.
I did hear of another community west of RP, a couple miles west of the estuary, we are going to go check it out and hope this smaller community is closer to the wild west days of RP. I dont know the name of it but its supposed to be pretty nice, with a large hotel and even a golf course??

Hi, I just got back from Rocky Point and let me tell you...there are ATV's everywhere on the streets and on the beach. The locals there ride there ATV's as form of transportation. Once you get closer to the beach there are ATV rentals just about every block. Just remember to take your ATV registration because it is required when crossing the border. I hope this helps.

Everything is cool in RP, the only thing that has changed is you can`t ride in the city past dark, you can`t ride in front of the newer hotels, but you can pretty much ride all over same as always. Most of the riding is wide open and awesome. A great area to ride is out Sandy beach, Cholla bay areas. These rumers have been going on for years now, just remember to have copies of your titles when you cross the border, they do check sometimes. Have fun be safe...
