kfx,
Would be a great place for the kids!
This is a camping restricted area in that you must camp in designated sites. There are several spread over the area, some larger than others (not sure if yo're tentin' it or have a hauler). No fees. No facilities.
Do you need directions?
Also, bein' a long weekend an' all, IF Bannie Mine Rd is full. There also the Wolf Creek area which has some killer trail systems. There are quite a few dispersed sites (same camping restrctions as above must stay in designated sites) and a fee campground with restrooms that has a connecting trail leading right out of the campground (sweet).
Bannie and Wolf Creek, two of my favorites. Of the two, Wolf Creek probably has more possibilities, as there is much more ridin' if you are not tagged.
Of course if'n yer comin' that far might as well drive just a bit further and join us at Camp Wood! Great campin', good people, AND only a million miles of superb ridin' (find somethin' new everytime I'm out there)!!!

Bannie Mine Rd:
Between Prescott Valley and Prescott, turn left on Walker Rd (Costco and AM/PM).
I am not sure of the exact mileage, I'd say maybe 6 miles or so. Bannie Mine Rd will be on the left (watch closely for it). Campsites are well marked. Stay off barricaded trails (there's been a lot of misuse and we dont wanna lose this area). There's a section of closed private property also. Oh yeah, the FS is reclaimating Lynx Creek and that area is baricaded. Other than that good to go.
Wolf Creek:
Can find directions in the Trail Guide from one of the many connected trails in the area.
