Hi guys!
I just got back from Estero Beach in Ensenada. We were down there pitting several ATV racers and had a really great time! 75 degrees and our pit was right off the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately I believe I've picked up a case of Montezumas Revenge- Blah!
Anyways, I thought you would all be interested to hear that the Overall ATV and Pro ATV win went to Wayne Matlock and Arizona's own Chad Prull on an Alba Racing Suzuki Z400. These guys were flying right up to the end! I think Wayne got more air of the finish line jump than most of the MC's. Chad told us that he will be at Snowflake and is probably bringing Matlock with him for his first Whiplash race.
The Expert Quad win went to the team of Kirk Schreier, Shiloh Strunk and Josh Edwards. These guys didn't have so much as a flat tire all day. They were also the 3rd overall ATV to finish and I think finished 20th overall in the combined bike and quad classes.
Everyone commented on what a great course this was. It was run backwards from the course I raced last year. Sorry I don't have the names of those who finished in the MC's, although I do know the #10 KTM overalled the race. These guys had never raced Baja before either.
