Ok fella's. It's been two years, last Whiplash race was the Gila race in 2000. Haven't been to the races because it was too d@mn depressing. Didn't ride for a long time, then had to putt for a long time, then started pushing and can now ride decently, not as good but not too far off .

I'm going to the Snowflake race and the "pre-run" this weekend. Having never raced the Big KX - I had a CR500 at the time - I can tell you it stands head and shoulders above the CR I had. The question I have is simple:

"Has the course changed much in the past two years?"

...last Whiplash race was the Gila race in 2000.

No wonder you hate Whiplash. That race SUCKED.

Even Whiplash wont go back there. That should tell you how bad it was.

First off, welcome back.

Second, no the Snowflake track hasn't changed much, EXCEPT for the powerline road.
It was added in 2 years ago because the other fence line road was to dangerous. (I will never understand that reasoning.)

The power line is extremely dangerous if you're not paying attention. Practice it as much as possible. It's not much fun, but you're better off in the race if you have every inch memorized.

Don't let me discourage anyone. The Snowflake race is the funnest race of the year.

There are some super fast straights, and super slow single track.

By far the biggest race of the year. It was even going to be televised one year until they lost their funding.

Watch for super fast Pros from other states.

It's not the bike that makes the rider fast, it's the rider that makes the bike fast!

Just hold that 5-honey tapped until she stops excelerating then hit the kill button for a couple seconds every minute or so.

You'll do fine.

Remember, don't ever let off from full throttle without you thumb on the kill button. (2-strokes only)

I was air-vac'd out of the wash. Reconstruct knee and shoulder surgery and 18 months of rehab is why I hate Gila, but I'm glad to hear Whiplash doesn't go there anymore.

I love the fence line road, oh well we race what they give us :)

And thanks for the welcome back, hopefully it won't take too long to get back to the 100's or beyond.

I broke my hip in that very wash in 1999. Right where the wash gets close to the highway (mile marker 40 on the old course).

All the ambulances, and four-winged birds were occupied so my wife drove me to the hospital.

THAT was a long trip.

I vowed to never do that race agian, but I caved in 2001 and WON. Go figure.

They annouced a totally new track so I entered. Come to find out it was the same crap in a different wash.

I had a friend break his wrist so bad in that race that he can never ride again.

He broke almost every bone in his wrist and hand!!!

Yeppers, hate that place. I feel like Steve Austin, I got a titanium / teflon knee and a titanium and teflon shoulder rotor and cuff, plate and pins in my scapula and pins in the collarbone.

God, racers sound like the geriatric ward at Good Sam

I guess thats why "It don't hurt 'til the bone shows" hahaha, right. Guess I'm just a p#ss
